Apologies

I missed the typed AMA on Sunday. We had a minor emergency here at casefile with the file of a fully recorded episode becoming corrupted. So a lot of work was lost. That took up a lot of the weekend and the AMA slipped my mind.

So Im going live now if anyone is around.

And also I will re appear for another AMA this Sunday at 9am AEDT.

On June 1 1960, Sydney resident Bazil Thorne received a phone call informing that he’d just won one hundred thousand pounds in a Sydney Opera House Lottery. Bazil couldn’t believe his ears – he’d never won anything of significance before.

As news of Bazil’s big win was broadcast throughout the city, he thought his family’s life was about to change for the better. He was wrong.

Case 74: Eric Coy

On the morning of January 24 1987, nine-year-old Eric Coy hopped on his bike to make the one-mile journey to his cousin Eddrick’s house in the Northern Californian town of Martinez. The two boys were best friends and it was a trip Eric had made countless times before. Eager to get there as quick as he could, Eric took a shortcut.

Case 73: The Lady in the Barrel

On September 15 1878, three teenage boys were tending to cattle in the woods near Silver Lake in Staten Island when they discovered a wooden barrel sticking out of the mud. Excited about the potential treasure that lay within, they frantically dug at the barrel with sticks.

The mysterious contents had been sealed with a length of carpet. As the boys pulled the fabric out, something fell out that wasn’t treasure at all. It was a human arm.

Case 72: Wilhelmina Kruger and Anna Dowlingkoa

For several weeks, 56-year-old Wilhelmina Kruger was unable to shake the feeling she was being watched. It turned out Wilhelmina’s suspicions were right. The following morning, her mutilated body was found at the bottom of the basement stairs in what was considered one of the most brutal attacks in New South Wale...

Patreon Picks #3: Michele O’Dowd

On the morning of Friday, December 2nd, 2011, Phyl Axt dropped in on his 67-year-old twin sister Michele O’Dowd. Michele hadn’t turned up for work at Phyl’s telecom company in Jacksonville, Florida and it wasn’t like her to not show up without calling. Michele ran the accounts department, and it was a busy time of year leading up to the holidays - so Phyl thought he’d better go see if she was ok.
