Every week I post pictures of my models on socials famous to crop and alter the quality of pictures and I never never ever thought to share them also here, where (theoretically) you can see them in their original size and quality!
So, yeah, I feel like an idiot...
Especially because if you are here you probably want to see every little detail and brushstroke... so again, you got the idea from the title lol!
Have a great week <3
ps: I'll keep you posted about the big bird on FB ...

It took a bit longer than expected, but I made it!
My pc definitely hates processing long videos and at the end I had to split the six hours of footage in two three hours video (now I know how Zack Snyder feels).
The airbrushing stage starts at 1:51:16 and I left the audio so you can understand better the intensity and frequency that I use when spraying fluid paints like inks.
As a bonus I whistle here and there, lol!
The second part with all the delicate brushwork is still in re-...

See you at the PREMIERE!!! π
Old models, old methods and old techniques can still do wonders in the modern age of miniature painting, you just need to go deep into how and why they work to unlock their true potential π
Enjoy, drop a LIKE and share with the world!!!
PS! - The REAL TIME video will probably arrive a couple of hours late; it's about 6 hours long and it's taking ages to render and upload! Sorry for the inconvenience (but the wait is worth it on this one ;) ) !...

Hello guys! A quick, but super important service notice!
After a lot of thought I decided to make an experiment and change the posting schedule of the YouTube channel from weekly to every two weeks, for at least the rest of the year.
I like to deliver a fully painted project in every new video, without fillers or gimmicks, but a ton of stuff I love like high quality minis (yep, you have seen just the tip of the iceberg π), display and competition models, monsters, vehicles, bus...

A little provocation for all those painters convinced that airbrushing unlocks secret powers and exclusive unfair techniques! Everything in the vast painting universe comes from the perfect humble brush!
I tend to become a bitβ¦messianic when I read Dune, lol
Washes and contrast paints are still used in extremely simplistic ways, waaaaaaaaaaaay under their true potential: this is an interesting workflow for hardcore brush painter that donβt want to renounce to cool and extremely ef...

In the YouTube video the process seems more a 50-50 acrylics-oil workflow but in the real time version you can see better how the acrylic part is extremely quick and sketchy meant only to support the brush work with the basic general blends.
If I have to put a label on this process I would say that's more a sketch & refine approach more than anything else, where colours are the main focus of every step!
Enjoy!

As often happens painting with oil colours and working with a limited palette in particular, the general workflow is extremely simple and intuitive, but what happens on the palette and the single brushstrokes contain a ton of information and subtle nuances that need to be seen in real time!
Thanks to the variety of models and different situations and the quantity of footage this is probably one of my best videos to go deeper into the oil painting flow π

5 gritty models, the Zorn limited palette used with a 100% brush workflow, a scheme inspired by one of the coolest skirmish games of the year and if you want to study every single brushstroke, more than 4 hours of footage in the real time version (plus, me having a ton of fun in the process XD). I'm really proud of this video! The models belong to a humble screen unit destined to an endless cycle of horrible deaths π
but they gave me the chance to explore the cool topic of colour theory and environmental light (stuff that too often is considered important only for display and competition models) in army painting, using them not only as theoretic guidelines but also as proper tools to make the work quicker and more efficient. I really enjoyed the ride and I hope it will be useful t...

I'm having sooooo much fun painting these guys!
It's been a while since the last time I've been really hyped for an entire army (my Khador for Warmachine has been the last passion project in the army size) and balancing efficiency and quality on so many models is always a great challenge.
Since we have only a tiny part of the full army the work here is more like painting warbands but I think it's closer to what a standard hobbyist can and should do when working on large pro...

Iβll be honest, if you are following the recent oil painting series, this video is for sure the most basic for what concerns hand and brushstrokes BUT the deepest and most complex for what concerns painting with oils and the variety of cool stuff you can do with them, even before preparing the palette!
Enjoy π

My Cursed city needed a better final boss XD!
I love to use a 50-50 acrylics-oils approach on large beefy models;
the airbrush creates stable volumes and rich base tones in a matter of minutes and the easy, soft blends of oils take care of the finer modulations, textures and details with a minimal effort!
As an "opportunistic painter" I choose not to take sides and use the best of the two mediums :)

New ideas and techniques to speed up the work on warbands and armies using only the paintbrush!
"Application & blending" are only the beginning and with this video I want to add new tools to your oil painters' toolbox;
handling lights and shadows at the same time, tmm, super soft blends for nmm reflections, stippling and textures and.... drybrushing... yes, drybrushing! But a drybrush that creates GLAZES! Yes, this is a dense video lol

I shied away from this topic for a while fearing the YT algorithm and the established power of acrylics but it's time to start shaking the system a bit more XD!
This video is probably the most practically useful of the real time series;
even in their simplicity the shape, vector and pressure of every single brushstroke make immediately a substantial difference here and watching the process in real time you can easily absorb everything you need to know about the oils' workflow!

In this video the colour blocking is so simple, quick and effective that the first part of the work, "pre wet palette" is quite short!
The good thing is that there is a lot more detailing than usual :) ... not because the models needed it, but because I was having a lot of fun, lol!

A ton of speed painting ideas for your zombie hordes or wherever you need creepy, unhealthy skin tones, moody schemes and soft, free flowing transitions... IN REAL TIME :) !
The general idea is to quickly create the illusion of a lot of visual variety, still keeping everything under an uniform look and a cohesive mood.
A simple but strong underpainting of the sharp volumes was the key for the work on the Skeletons while here the main protagonists are oil paints and their ability to crea...
