Update Post! Feb. 14th, 2025 (Song reveal!)

Hey Patrons! I have a quick update post for you.

🤒 I got sick lol. We've been dealing with a pretty bad flu in the Atma house this week that's had me out of commission for the past few days (pretty much right after I posted XIV), hence the delay on songs. But I'm starting to feel better now and am getting back to work starting tonight and over the weekend.

Wondertart preview this weekend! Song should be finished early next week (aiming for Monday), video up the next day or so.

In other news, there's still the matter of my wife's annual Valentine's Day song pick. In keeping with recent tradition, it is also not dropping on Valentines Day this year 😅, but it will next up and come shortly after Wondertart. The song she's chosen this year is:

Dreamer from Streets of Rage 2! A great song to follow up our Go Straight remix from a couple of years ago.

GaMetal XIV Full Download!

Hey Patrons, here's your early download for the 2024 compilation album, XIV! 

GaMetal XIV Download Folder 

The folder linked to above contains folders for the MP3 and WAV downloads (almost no one downloads the AAC version I used to provide, but it will be available on BandCamp later for those who still prefer that version) as well as two folders of all of 2024's song artwork in full quality, (one folder with GaMetal logo and song titles, other folder without logos/titles).

(For those unfamiliar with DropBox, you can download a folder by hovering over it and selecting Download to the right, then 'Or continue with download only' at the bottom, you don't have to login to anything.)

Like recent years, the song order is arranged in a combination of 2024 release order and series (some series moved later), so Mario songs are alongside each other, Kirby songs alongside each other, etc.

"Disc 2" has this year's bonus tracks. I have 4 for you this time:

• Flying Battery Zone (Sonic & Knuckles) (2025 Remaster)

• Captain Falcon (F-Zero GX/AX) (Instrumental Arrangement)

• Someday (The World Ends With You) (Instrumental Arrangement)

• Waiting For You (Silent Hill 4: The Room) (Instrumental Arrangement)

Additionally, I have created a very small bonus intro track at the beginning of the album. I did this so I can use the actual album art created for the first song (in the case of 2024, Pizza Time) instead of having to assign the album artwork to it (a requirement to get the album art to show up correctly in most players). I'm pretty sure everyone will recognize it. 😉

Like last year, all of the license-able 2024 songs for streaming services are already up as singles, but this album will still be submitted as a compilation of those songs, along with the bonus tracks (all except Captain Falcon should go through). The album will be released publicly on the GaMetal Bandcamp page later this evening. Other file formats will be available from there as well.

Quick Update! Feb. 6th (Confirming XIV song naming stream tomorrow!)

Hey Patrons!

Just making a quick update with you to confirm we'll indeed be doing the song naming stream tomorrow (Feb. 7th). We'll be starting about an hour earlier than I normally do, so 3:00 PM US Eastern time. The stream link will be posted here shortly before we begin.

For those who aren't familiar, we've been giving the song names for the BandCamp releases of the yearly compilation albums original names since the 2015 compilation album (V). A few years ago I began streaming the process, so that you all could help me with some of the tougher picks (meaning the games I know nothing about 😅).

For today's handpick, I'm going with a rather old request that I've been meaning to get to eventually:

A Dr. Neo Cortex medley from the original Crash Bandicoot Trilogy! This will be a small medley of Neo Cortex's themes from Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 and 3. It's currently on the list of R. Mop, former Patron FLOWERKILLER1, and one of the Discord Ballot accounts.

Update Post! Feb. 5th. 2025 (Patreon Stream later today!)

Hey Patrons, here's your first update post for the month!

First, a quick look at the to-do list:

• Next: Baking the Wondertart (Cuphead DLC)

I was able to get quite a bit off the to-do list with a standard 4 song month in January, and should be able to do so again this month. The ultimate goal is to have almost everything you see here out by the end of March.

Baking the Wondertart will be next up, depending on how long that takes me (hoping to have it out early next week), this will likely be followed by my wife's Valentines Day song pick (which will be revealed soon), and then anything else I'm able to squeeze into this short month. I'm still looking to have GBA Medley 2 ready this month as well as The Oracle.

Today's stream will take place at our usual time of 4:00 PM US Eastern (approximately 3 hours from this post), where we'll be choosing one song to go on the to-do list, followed by my off-stream handpick choice which will be posted shortly after.

I'm getting the 2024 compilation album, XIV, ready by this weekend, so we have to have a XIV song naming stream soon! I'll likely be doing this on Friday, I'll confirm the exact day/time with you tomorrow.

And lastly, another cool feature!

I got to play a part in this official Gimmick! arrange soundtrack! I performed the guitars on the Tee Lopes track Strange Memories of Death. This is the track that goes unused in the original release (but can still be heard in the sound test), but was eventually re-added to the re-release of the game (Gimmick! Exact Mix) as the game over/continue screen theme. We also had the privilege of meeting the composer, Masashi Kageyama, at MAGFest, where he explained the song's simultaneous existence and absence from the game is where he got the idea for the name.

It's also really cool to be a part of an official Gimmick! project because I learned about this game through GaMetal, covering two songs from it for the second even NES Medley (and another in NES Medley 8).

I meant to post this yesterday but to be honest, I was working on the WIMO video and I completely forgot! My bad. I just had a few quick notes to throw your way.

My goal with the next 3 songs are to have Nebula Gray up this weekend, followed by -tekitAI- mid-next week and KIU Boss Battle on the final day of the month. Wondertart will be the first song in February, the rest of the order is a rough estimate.

The other day I reviewed my progress on Project Peppermint and realized... there's really not much left to do on it, so I'm going to be spending time in February and especially March to get it wrapped up and will hopefully be able to reveal it around that time. I'm also looking to get those 3 vocal songs that've been on the list done and out ASAP (February is the goal), especially so I can focus all my energy on wrapping up Peppermint and anything else on the to-do list.

On a final quick note: I'm editing the What I'm Made Of video a bit differently than I usually do, just so you aren't taken off guard! Trying out some new stuff to freshen things up a bit. 🙂

Update Post! Jan 5th (Patreon stream later today!)

Hey Patrons, Happy New Year 🥳! I hope your 2025 has been going great for you all so far.

2025 is going to be a year of restructuring here on the GaMetal Patreon. For those unaware: Patreon will be axing the pay-per-creation model near the end of the year (November) which is going to deal quite the blow to Patreon pages using this method (like ours here). As such, I'm going to have to focus on changing things around a bit, and putting in a lot more effort than usual into recruiting new Patrons all throughout the year.

I will be asking for your input on things over the course of this time, such as what types of Patreon-exclusive content or rewards you might be interested in seeing. Keep an eye out for a community chat or post on this subject very soon (I will be making it early next week).

Since it's going to be tough recouping the entire loss going from per-creation to once-a-month, I'm going to also put a lot of effort into strengthening GaMetal across platforms in general (such as YouTube, Spotify, etc), so you can expect an extremely productive year for GaMetal in 2025.

I have a few things planned in those regards already, but for now, let's turn our focus to the to-do list:

• 2025 Premiere: What I'm Made Of (Sonic Heroes)

• Jan: Baking the Wondertart (Cuphead DLC)

• Jan/Feb: The Oracle (Secret of Mana)

• Jan/Feb: 敵對 -tekitAI- (AI: The Somnium Files)

Next up will be the 2025 premiere, What I'm Made Of from Sonic Heroes. Also coming this month will be Baking the Wondertart from Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, it will likely follow What I'm Made Of and be #2 this month unless otherwise noted (but will for sure come during the month of January). The Oracle and -tekitAI- should be ready and up either this month or next, at the latest.

We then have that little set of potential collab songs that I've been working on for an eternity, and am determined to get off the list ASAP. I'll let you know as soon as the first one is ready.

I'll also be starting work on the console medleys this month, looking to get both out during the first quarter of this year, the first of which will be GBA Medley 2, which I will be aiming to get sometime in early February.

And lastly, I'll be working on wrapping up Project Peppermint on the side at any opportunity I get, and like the rest will keep you updated on progress to when that should be ready to be revealed.

From this point forward, I'll be making a new one at the start of each year, and naming the edition after said year (ie. "2025 Edition"). The request list spreadsheet will remain the same, this is mainly just to refresh the comment section and make any rule change/updates. For today's stream, if you'd like to make a last minute update, you can still do so on the current post.
