Dungeon Magazine #139 debuted an adventure path called the Savage Tide with the adventure "There Is No Honor". Her name is Lavinia Vanderboren and her problem - well, it's complicated - is now your problem. She has this brother who made a deal with a demon and has gone bad, her parents are dead, she lost her ship, and a thieves' guild wants to control the city.

This is Cauldron, a small city of nearly five thousand that was built long ago in the caldera of a dormant volcano. Beginning with Dungeon Magazine #97, Cauldron was the center of an entire adventure path called The Shackled City. The first adventure, "Life's Bazaar" was written by Christopher Perkins and the ori...

Update: 4/12/25: The Den of Harrodroth and Rift Canyon Cliffs have been completely recreated and (I hope) improved.
Update 11/27/24: The Maze of Menhirs has been redrawn, adding much more detail and at a higher resolution. In addition, each of the six encounter areas now have their own separate map (gridded and non-gridded) that can be used in each of their respective areas. See the "Maze of Menhirs Encounters" below for those maps.

These maps were created in 2019 for Ryan Benter, a friend and fellow adventurer.
In 1995 I met Ryan Benter, who - I quickly discovered - would be one of the best friends that anyone could ever have. Although my brother Eric and I had begun playing D&D with the basic set and B2: "The Keep on the Borderlands" in the early 80s, it was with Ryan, Luke, Roy, Eric, Jeff...

In 1989 the book "Fate of Istus" featured many adventures in the world of Greyhawk that culminated here, in the secretive city of Hesuel Ilshar. I love the Borg-like structure of this smaller city (of perhaps about 4000-5000 at most) which is easily defendable, and has an almost oppressive sense of order. Like a game of chess, this city of 8x8 squares, each one being 100 feet in length,...

Porphyry House Horror was an adventure printed in Dungeon Magazine #95 written by James Jacobs, cartography by Christopher West. This adventure was developed using information from the Book of Vile Darkness, especially where it related to drugs, slavery, and other unsavory topics. This adventure was not for the feint of heart and was designed with the mature player in mind. It is placed in a brothel in the city of Chaos, 2024-10-16 18:02:26 +0000 UTC

I was inspired to build this map based on an adventure called "The Haunt" by Phil Beckwith (P.B. Publishing). You can find it here. I've played through that adventure and loved it, as did the players. Since I run all of our games in the world of Greyhawk, I decided to place it near Olger's Bend in the Domain of Greyhawk. General Montarthus had fought in the Greyhawk Wars not so lo...

These are a collection of maps associated with the Savage Tide adventure called "Wells of Darkness" which took players deep into the Abyss. The maps included are: Pazunia, the Plain of Infinite Pools, Overlook, Red Shroud's Throne, The Wells of Darkness, Well of Arlgolcheir, and the Well of Debased Eros. These maps are heavily inspired by the art of Robert Lazzaretti, the original cartographer for most of the art related to the Savage Tide adventure path.

I've always been fascinated by the idea of the Abyss. With its infinite layers of cold, hot, undead, fiends, you name it, it's there. For higher level adventures it opens up a vast realm of possibilities. This is the first of a series on the Abyss, but it also connects to the Savage Tide adventure path in the adventure "Wells of Darkness" from Dungeon Magazine #148.
