Episode 271 - Hamha-Man the Justice Hero (revamped)

 This episode was originally subbed on January 13th, 2010. So it is 10 years old!

This one is a really fun episode, with a funny plot even for a "dream episode". We have noticed a whole bunch of wrong translations, made up stuff and bad timing, but there were also a bunch of notes that show up lack of professionalism, so we have erased them. This time we managed to translate Howdy's joke, albeit it still makes no sense.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 51

Just one more episode!

As you can see from the file title, this episode is already subbed, We just didn't find a good moment to post the sneak peek.

Usually JP's final arc is something crazy, super dramatic and more interesting than half of the season. For Sunshine the stakes were really high, and even with that, we think they did a good job with it, albeit a little rushed.

This episode was surprisingly easy to deal with, with only a minor problems in some sentences that are...

This episode was really fun to sub but a little bit annoying on some parts, we ended up having to discuss if include a bunch of minor effects and additions, how to properly translate some expressions that have a perfect meaning in Japanese but no so much in English, not at least literally...

We are almost finished with this series, we're so excited!

This episode deals with something we all had to worry about: the graduation ceremony. As usual, the Jewelpets deal with it their own way...

Albeit it is a little late, we have decided to start using some font changes, mostly thinking on future projects. We aim to keep a consistency in our subtitles, so hopefully this works out for the best.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 50

Apologies for the silence since the start of the year, we have been busy with life, but subs have been worked on.

As you can see, this episode has gone through a few revisions between Whippu and André, and it is almost ready to be released after a quick screentest.

This however is a handful of an episode. There is a lot of references, a bunch of new vocabulary... We have learnt a lot out of this, so we hope you can enjoy it and learn too!

Episode 233 - Auspicious Angels

Happy New Year, everyone!

We gave Kristo really little time to get this episode done, and yet he did with time to spare, so let's make sure to thank him!

This episode is, as usual, a dream episode featuring New Year theme. In Japan it is very important the first dream of the year, so no wonder they made a lot of these episodes!

Nothing much to comment that wasn't discussed on the sneak peek however. The episode turned out great so we're very happy.

End of year report

Hello! First of all, we at Paradise Hamsubs would like to wish you a Happy New Year! This is not only the start of a new year, but a new decade too! Paradise Hamsubs is officially ten years old now, and we have done so much and improved so much during this time!

Sneak Peek - Episode 233

Merry Christmas everyone!

Even though the preview is from earlier, this episode is already finished! Since it is related to the current dates, we hope to release it on time. However, I gave Kristo little window to time it, so it may be delayed a bit.

I dislike the "edo period" episodes. They are not the worst, but I avoid them as much as possible, however this episode was requested a lot, and it also fits with the new year theme so... I went ahead and worked on it.

It took some time but it is finally here! 

This episode is somewhat of a continuation of the last one, the pace is a little slow but even so it is plot relevant so I can't really say its a bad episode. I just prefer more jewelpet time over human time.

Episode 168 - I want to see you, Bijou! (revamped)

It's been a long time since we have worked on a revamped episode, despite the goals, so I apologize for that.

This episode was originally subbed on July 6th, 2010. Originally it was a "subbed because of a birthday" episode, since Bijou's birthday was very close. I really love Bijou as a character, more so about 10 years ago when I was absolutely obsessed with Hamtaro, so I clearly put a lot of effort on this episode, shown by the fact that the timing was perfect (with some minor changes...

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 49

Although we are so behind in release, I decided to go ahead and keep working on these, they're really fun and Whippu worked about 70% of the episode plus all the timing so it is really easy to go along.

This episode starts the final arc. It has a lot of references and vocabulary issues, but it's a nice change of pace from previous episodes. The plot could be better but I love this series too much to bother about the small details.

I can't believe we're almost done.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 48

I'm writing this, this time, before finishing the episode. I actually just finished 47's first draft and have some time to continue with 48 so I'll probably post this not too much after 47's sneak peek.

If you are a fan of Jewelpet, you should know that before Sunshine, the main love interest for Ruby have been Tour. They did a great job with his character on this season, although it is a shame that they changed him -so- much to the point he is a completely new character.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 47

As we reach the end of the series, more and more characters are getting their arc reaching an end.

The way Sapphie talks, with all her science shenanigans and all, has always given us some headaches, but she is a great character (as part of the main three) and I think they wrote her really good this season. Maybe a little too goofy, but that's also fine.

This episode has some really wild references, you will see.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 46

I had a lot of fun working on this episode, so much that I forgot to make a sneak peek before finishing it!

Following the big revelation of the previous episode, this one goes deep into explanation. Some new characters and voices that we rarely hear, so it is an interesting change of pace.

This episode also features one of the most hilarious moments of the whole season. Look forward to it!

Episode 280 - Peron! Chestnut Alien

Not only two episodes in a single day, but also two Hamtaro episodes with a single day of distance?!  

This episode should've been released a month or so ago but both Kristo and I have been busy so it got delayed.

Gelato is easy to sub, but I am not a fan of her manipulative skills (albeit the Ham-Hams seem to think of it just as a game). But her poor owner really got the short end of the stick.

Jewelpet Sunshine 45

I'm so happy to release this so soon, albeit what I anticipated. 

This episode is a valentine one, and as shown in the sneak peek, it doesn't really go the usual way a valentine episode would. Jewelpet sure likes to push some boundaries and get the best out of their scripters.

We are starting december and we are on the last stretch, I am so excited about the near future! 

Episode 107 - The Rolling Giant Egg

As I mentioned on the sneak peek, this was easy work. 

Against my previous statement and prejudices, this episode turned out to be somewhat fun. It was over before I even noticed! So it didn't get boring.

I'm happy to see these kind of straight-forward episodes where it is like "here is a thing, there's this problem, we fix it".  Makes for a fun and fast episode, not memorable, but not bad either.

I am just running a quick overlook because the work they made is amazing! Apparently the italian dub (which they used to sub along with the japanese dub) is pretty spot-on on their translation! I mean, I knew this from when I started subbing and worked on some italian episodes, but still!

Sorry for taking so long to post this. We actually went back to this after the sneak peek and worked out some of the sentences we were not feeling too good about.

I still think there's minor things that may not be as accurate as they could be but this is a troublesome episode, and we were expecting it.

Episode 108 - The Seaside Rest House

When I made Flora's birthday post not so long ago on Tumblr, I noticed that I could not find the subtitles for "Flora's Wedding". I remember I subbed the episode so that was a little weird.

Sneak Peek - Episode 280

This episode is really cute! It is the last Gelato episode, I believe that with this one we covered all of her episodes.

I get the feeling that this episode was released around the same time as Nazo Nazo Q, as Skyham and Nande made a cameo out of the blue. I got quite surprised when I got to see Nande specially.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 43

Just like 42, this episode was finished last week, however since I did not post 42's sneak peek, I delayed this one too.

This episode was easier than the previous one, but it still had quite a bunch of controversial and hard-to-pull scenes, for instance the one that is shown in the screenshot was the hardest one.

This episode is really fun though, so that mitigates it. We are slowly approaching the last stretch, I'm very happy!
