Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 42

I actually worked on this episode like almost a week and a half ago, but I forgot to post the sneak peek whoops!

This episode was slightly difficult, there were plenty of "human world" sentences that made it hard to pull out, but luckily the huge ammount of Angela making noises made it more bearable.

Besides that, nothing worth noting, we did our best!

Jewelpet The Movie: Sweets Dance Princess

This is the definitive edition of the Jewelpet Movie we released at the start of the year. Whippu and I worked really hard, even checked the japanese script to make sure our translation is as accurate as possible.

We added karaokes and effects, and also changed a bunch of lines that were bad translated or timed. We won't be getting back to this movie probably ever. It is as good as we can do.

Sneak Peek - Episode 108

For this episode, I am using the valencian dub to make a first draft, then I will watch the episode in japanese and fix lines that are different. This allows for a quicker process (it is easier for me to translate from a language I'm native with) as I explained previously when I worked with other valencian dubbed episodes.

This time I am finally using Divxland after who knows how long. I have been working with already timed episodes or revamps, so I haven't really had the need.

Good day! 

Today we want to make a special announcement.

If you have been enjoying our work for plenty of time, you must be aware by the plenty of times we have complained about it, that the hardest part and biggest obstacle to subtitle an episode is timing the lines.

In the past we have explained a few times how to time, so we won't repeat ourselves here, but to say, it is a rather grinding and boring endeavor. At least to us.

Episode 177 - Shiny, shooting star!

This episode was sent to me by Kristopher at the same time as 183, however I decided to sparce the uploads to avoid spamming. 

This episode didn't have the same quality treatmen than 183, because it comes already from an acceptable quality video.

This episode is really really cute, truly what you would expect from the early Hamtaro episodes. Marron and Penelope have a good chemistry and their innocence is refreshing and adorable.

Jewelpet Sunshine 41

For this episode there isn't really much to comment, we didn't make use of any special effect or anything. However, I think it is an important episode regarding the season plot, so there is that at least.

We did had to make some changes to some lines that were -really- obscure and we had some trouble finding a proper translation to them, but the overall meaning is still accurate.

I really believe Luna should get more screentime, and I find her "magic power" this season to be a lit...

Episode 183 - Marron's Winter Festival

There is not much to comment here than we did on the sneak peek. However, Kristopher managed to "remaster" the bad quality raw we had, he used the Taiwanese Mandarin high quality rip, added the audio from namanama's version and used Patchi's cantonese VCD rips for the opening and ending (since the taiwanese dub uses opening 3 for late episodes for some reason)!

That's a lot of work and I think it's worth of praise. So enjoy it, guys!

Jewelpet Movie - Karaoke Sneak Peek

This post will be a little boring because I'll just talk about the process on how to make a karaoke. If you have no interest on that, all you need to know is that the current project for the team is making a "Final Subbed Version" of the Jewelpet Movie we released first thing this year. This version will include karaokes, effects and some stuff that we decided was too time-consuming for the previous release. Chances are we may change some lines too!

Sneak Peek - Episode 177

Just like 183, this episode was originally subbed by Fiore from the italian dub to english. I had to make some changes here and there (apparently the italian dub found the japanese dub too little talkative, and added a bunch of lines and words for things that are just sounds in the japanese dub) but once more, the italian dub did a pretty awesome job translating the series.

Sneak Peek - Episode 183

This episode (and another one) was subbed from the italian dub to english by Fiore, and Kristopher sent me the .ass files so he suggested I could make some quick work and release these. 

The translation for the italian dub is quite accurate as we already know, but I had to make a bunch of changes here and there (some lines were something completely different, but most of them were minor changes).

I love Peridot.

I was just about to finish the post there, but it would be a little lame, right? I did said pretty much everything on the sneak peek however. 

We ended up making up the puns, trying to keep the general meaning of the words and all, but making them have sense in english.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 41

This has been a rather interesting episode, nothing too difficult to work with but there sure is a few sentences that will need to be discussed.

I think this episode gets a little into the lore part of the series which is great, and also there are quite a few of cute things going on.

Overall I'm quite happy with the results and all I can do is apologize for the lack of content, but summer tends to be a bad time for me (I don't have AC and I live in a zone that is constantly attack...

Episode 189 - I'm worried about Sis! (revamped)

This episode was finished on October 5th 2010. So almost 9 years later, it is the next revamped episode we work on!

Now this episode was plainly bad translated. I changed about 70% of the lines, I also used a better version of the episode (still vhs but not so terrible quality) so I had to make a bunch of changes to the timing.

This episode is really cute though, and I'm happy with the results, this time the translation makes sense and lot of typos have been fixed. It almost looks...

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 40

This episode is already finished, we just need to go through a few troublesome lines but that should be sorted out soon.

Jewelpet Sunshine 39

This is an amazing episode and I would like you all to watch it... a few times.

I am being honest, this is really really good! The episode was rather easy to sub too, since these two talk little except the "paca" and "labu". I want to thank Whippu for helping with the ep and specially with the japanese subtitles shown in the episode.

Overall it was a really nice experience, and we're quite happy with the results!

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 39

This episode is pure gold. Probably one of the funnier ones in the series if not the funniest. It is also rather chill and easy to sub compared to previous episodes so that is also welcomed.

Expect this to be released relatively soon, we're a little behind schedule (summer is just too gross and I can't stay in the office where the computer is because it is like working inside a sauna) but we're getting there!

Jewelpet Sunshine 38

I said pretty much all during the sneak peek: Whippu did most of the episode here, so I can't really comment on how difficult it was to sub. 

This episode is really, really funny, a good candidate for any top 5 of the series. This is also the very first time the Sweetpets are shown, way before the movie!

Both Whippu and I had special fun with the second half of this episode. There was a minor setback in some stuff Dolphin Sensei said, but other than that, the whole episode is...

Jewelpet Sunshine 37

This episode had some ups and downs but overall I consider it a fun one. I had to learn some words on the go while we were subbing, but I'm quite happy with the result!

We don't really get many Opal episodes so this was a good time, and I like to think that this episode help develop her persona in the next season.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 38

This episode was single-handed mainly by Whippu. He did about 80% of the episode and I have to say he did an incredible good job! I made a few changes to the lines and filled the blanks, you can see in the screenshot a few of these. 

The episode is already completely translated, but we have to discuss a bunch of lines that we are unsure how to deal with (being they need a rephrasing or they are too obscure for us and we need to investigate them further).

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 36

Yup, another post lol

This episode is also very good. I know I repeat myself, but it's the truth! Some parts are a bit troublesome and hard to translate, but it will be work out when Whippu and I discuss the subs.

The first segment is really cool, it's a nice critic to bootlegs; and the second one follows up the story you expect from a "high school drama" anime. It's not the best, but hey, not every episode will be perfect.

Sneak Peek - Jewelpet Sunshine 35

If 34 was the reason I got into Jewelpet, having my country (and an event that takes places an hour and a half away by car from my town) portrayed in the very next episode is just the cherry on top.

June plans

This day, I'd like to make an announcement.

During this month, we won't release any Hamtaro subbed episode. We might, if time allows it, release a revamped episode.

The reason for this is that, during this month, we will be focusing on fixing all of the links that are down in tumblr and our website, and uploading everything to OneDrive.

Normally, I would do this *and* translate, but this month is very heavy in real work so I won't be able to do both, sadly.

Episode 252 - Fluffy Gelato! (Revamped)

Just in the nick of time (it is June 1st morning to me however) we release May's revamped episode. Sorry for the delay! This month was craaaaazy.

As I mentioned in the preview, there's been a few changes to all the "bello" business, Kristo pointed out (and I agree) that she is probably saying "pero", which in japanese is the sound for "lick". Expected since her whole theme is soft serve. So we changed all the "Bello" accordingly.

While we finish up the two Hamtaro eps we are about to release, here's the next Jewelpet episode!

As I explained in the sneak peek, Episode 34 is one of my favorite episodes of the whole Jewelpet anime, and the reason I got into Jewelpet to begin with.

Sneak Peek - Episode 252 (Revamped)

For this month's revamped episode, I decided to work on Episode 252. This one was finished on April 13th, 2009; over 10 years ago!

This episode was not timed and grammar fixed by Kristopher, but by another good friend and temporal member of Paradise Hamsubs: Setsuro. You may find some strange things going on in this screenshot (for example, Gelato's catchphrase); we may not keep these in the final release.
