I've worked on the game a lot last week. Art really gives me inspiration. =)

This game will have nine important characters, including the protagonist, and it will take a while to make all the sprites since Nii, the character artist, has a job and all. We now have the full sprite of this new romanceable boy, Ran. He's a city guard... sound familiar? 😂
In the meantime, I've contacted a new background artist and I hope there will be some background art to show soon. The artist who did most of the backgrounds for the Ice Demon is going to be busy for months, so I wanted to involve someone new, hoping they can do it sooner.
Here is some concept art for the next character, who will have a romance. He should be a "nice guy" but I do want everyone to have some darkness in them.
Progress has been a little slow since both the artist and I have been sick, but I hope we'll pick up the pace soon. =')

I have been writing this VN and using some rough placeholder art until it becomes more clear which scenes will be needed, and it's already fun to write. I have a small update to share. I've started working on the plot and script for a new VN in the Demonheart world, and the artist 6Nii9 made this sketch of Raze (the adult one, you know him :))
All I can promise in regards to the old characters is that Raze will make an appearance. The protagonist is supposed to be a new female character. This new story is based on something I started last winter, and I'm still developing it, but I'm excited to work on it. :)

I've made a lot of progress on finishing the game:
- Tested Esmius's ending and made some changes to make it more different from the solo ending.
- Found voice actors for all the NPCs - it will be partial voice acting, and the protagonist isn't voiced. I hope I chose good actors for the romance interests! (I was thinking of Steven Kelly again but didn't go through with it - the man is almost perfect...

Apart from polishing the game, I've recently been working on putting together an artbook, since I have so many character sketches, and the artist has been so pro to provide me with interesting progress images. Also, I loved when he did concept art and I had to choose which details and colors I wanted on a character. Today I'm sharing some pages that I finished assembling. =)

Last month, I finally wrote some scenes that were missing in Sirath's romance and a solo ending. The game now has four endings and all the main parts of the plot are written. I'm hoping to add some more player choices in the late game.
The end is in sight! If I don't have any bigger delays, it could be finished in two months. 🎉

I asked the character artist 6nii9 to do this one image for Jester/King, and here it is! The in-game sprites were done by me and they took way too long, so I never managed to draw Madion in a new pose for the main menu.

I feel like it's been a long time since I posted some meaningful progress reports, but the holiday season coupled with a few health problems... January always seems to go like this for me.

Hey, so I've decided to post some conversations that never made it into the published games. I have an archive of unused conversation snippets, but not all of them are presentable. =) Some didn't make it into the game because of a change of plans, so they didn't quite fit in, and others I didn't know how to finish.
This was supposed to be a kind of info-dump conversation with Raze the impostor, meant to remind players of the events of Demonheart VN and inform them in case they haven't ...
Today the background artist finished this new image - it's an icy part of Inferno.
In the meantime, I'm sorting out and editing the text. I finished writing the first version of Esmius's romance and still need to write a solo ending.

As for the progress on the game, I've been writing and need to write some more. I finished the first version of the Sirath romance branch, but I feel like I need to add more to it. Also, some romantic content with Nissa just popped up on its own, in the middle of Sirath's branch. She just stole the spotlight, but oh, well. =D
