Blind Alley No. 61
Hey - thanks for bearing with me! Here comes this weeks Blind Alley FRESH from the vine. As I alluded to a few weeks ago, we were about to hit some terrain where I wasn't feeling as confident in the way a few plot threads were introduced. I managed to find a bit of time to draw some new strips to help ease plot in and include some more characters who I feel don't get enough strip time! Whenever I start drawing strips I don't ever want to stop but my jobs demand priority unfortunately. 2021-11-24 01:20:10 +0000 UTC View Post
I may be a little late posting this weeks Blind Alley's; I am currently inking some strips to smooth out a few plots.
Thanks,
Adam

Upfront, this is a dumb post. It's not serious. I love drawing Blind Alley.
Before starting Blind Alley, I wanted to have a few months worth of strips in the queue. I knew that summer and fall could be a lot busier so having about half a years worth of strips all finished seemed like the smart thing to do. Now that I am working a part-time job, as well as working on a *project*, I've been watching the queue slowly deplete. Frankly - I still have strips ready to post up ...

Just after the new year in 2020, I discovered an email in my junk folder to test as a storyboarder for <REDACTED> at Cartoon Network. I replied, in a panic, apologizing for missing the email, and they sent over a test. Like everyone in alternative comics, since Adventure Time, I've fantasized about finding myself in that position on a board driven show. It seemed like one of the only sustainable options to do something comic adjacent. The test itself was a ton of work but it was extreme...

I made this to replace my current twitter icon (which is the same as my patreon icon) but was informed it's rather creepy. I don't know!

Hello dear Patrons,
I did a bunch of mock-ups for potential shirt and hat designs and I'd love to hear what stands out the most to you folks! Think I am leaning towards the first shirt design but...they're all kinda cool in their own way? As for hats, I think #9 is the front runner but I like the other Lula designs quite a bit. I am a sucker for all these characters though. Let me know what you think! Colors aren't chosen either.
Thanks!
Adam

Hey...here's a wallpaper for your computer.
Drew this for the Blind Alley website but kinda think it'd work well on a t-shirt. What do you folks think?

Cars? Easy! Detailed Backgrounds? Sure - I'll give it a go! Hands? No problem!! Self portrait? Dear god no!
Really though...for some reason drawing a cartoon-y little self portrait or display pic has always been one of the hardest things to draw. As someone already predisposed to overthinking, having to draw an interpretation of myself just sends me spiraling. I analyze every bit of the process and end up just giving up! I have no idea how anyone writes first person auto bio comics. Got...

kingdom hearts is the first game I obsessed over and 100% completed as a kid. I eagerly awaited the release of the sequel and when it finally came out my best friend and I played our own copies, in the same room but on separate small TVs, for almost a whole weekend. I remember waking up in the early hours and seeing he was still playing and motivating myself to wake up and keep going. Anyways, I went on to 100% it and put over 100 hundred hours into it by just running the same sections until...

Here are some drawings I did for that Pecan the Vampire pitch I mentioned on that post last week. Would really love to revisit this dumbass.

My big project for the foreseeable future takes place in a very specific setting. It's a natural environment that I have spent a lot of my life in and it's incredibly important that I capture the nuance and variation of it. That being the case, I've taken hundreds of reference photos but, now that I am actually starting the project, I've realized how big of to-do capturing this setting correctly is! There is so much variation in types of stone, dirt, bark, grasses, and how light or moisture e...
