One thing to note is that this will be a flash-forward and stand alone chapter, so in Chapter 4 of Big Dick Energy, Kara is still going to be in a rut and their relationship will still be in its earlier stages. I think that's the easiest way to handle it rather than to just skip over the rest of Kara's first rut completely.
