Cub Askari

My version of cub Askari. He's going to appear in "The First King" soon...

My theory about Askari is that his face is a little malformed. Other lions and animals bully him because of his "ugliness" and because they think he's somehow "cursed". This causes him to become very fierce, empathetic and justice-seeking.

Teen Babu sketch

I changed his mane design because I thought the old one was boring.

 Poor Boga is sad about something. Her teenage life isn't easy (but then again, whose is?).

My version of adult (and teen) Boga used to have a light nose gradient, but now I've decided that a dark one looks better.

In my story, Uru plays a big role in turning Mufasa and Taka/Scar against each other. In her eyes, Taka is always an innocent victim who can do no wrong on purpose, while Mufasa is "the future king" who's not responsible enough, wise enough, caring enough, or anything enough. She loves both her sons, but she expects too much of Mufasa and barely anything of Taka. It's partially because she herself was the oldest of triplets. She always felt it was her responsibility to take care of her little...

As you probably know,  according to Ford Riley, Scar's original name was Askari. In my story, he was born Taka, but he decided to rename himself after his idol.

Poor Taka, now he hates his name even more than before. XD

Baby Mufasa's expression was inspired by a random baby I saw at the grocery store. It kept staring at me with this judgemental face,  like it was deeply disappointed in me for some reason. o_O I, of course, returned the stare. But the rude baby didn't take the hint and just kept staring until we parted ways.

I decided to make a pic showing my drawing process (when coloring traditionally). I would have preferred to record a video but I couldn't. I broke my phone last week and I'm currently using my stepfather's old phone and it's just... no.

Decades of Denial, page 3, new version

OMG, I did it! I finally finished this stupid page! I hated every freaking second of working on it. It was torture! I was starting to lose faith in myself. But here it is, finally!

EDIT: I decided to use Lava Scar in my story. I don't like it, but I'm trying!

DoD page 3 WIP

I decided to use the background from the original page 3 and replace the characters with their younger selves. It's haaaard. I should have redrawn the whole panel and not just the characters... But I think it's too late to change that now. I've spent too much time on this. XD

Slowly but surely

Sorry for being so slow with this page. My back is okay now, but I got sick. Because of course I did, it's fall now.

But I must say that I was actually pretty excited to get sick. That sounds so wrong, but let me explain. XD You may or may not know that I'm studying to become a biomedical laboratory scientist. Decades of Denial, page 28

It continues!! Finally!  I'm still trying to decide what to do with the first pages (I mean, I kinda like Lava Scar, but how can he exist if the Roar doesn't exist? I'm not a huge fan of the Roar.), but I thought the story could continue anyway.

And yes, I'm aware that Ford Riley said that Scar's original name was Askari, but I'm still going to use Taka. Well, actually, I'm going to use both names. XD How? You'll have to wait and see.

Decades of Denial, page 2, new version

New version of page 2 of DoD. I made Kiara, Tiifu and Zuri younger, chaged the dialogue a little, and made the background in the first panel green.

Don't worry, the next page I'll draw will be a "real" new page. I don't know which comic though.
