Hi again! Quick question:
The Problem
Right now my full YouTube channel name is Perifractic's Retro Recipes. That's fine & dandy, but I have 2 small concerns and would value your esteemed opinions:
1. When viewed on mobile screens, this truncates to Perifractic's Retro R... which makes it less clear to newcomers what we're about.

Hi Patrons,
Here's a positive and open minded video where "My Mate Vince" tests the lightbrighting method from my recent video.
I won't spoil the outcome for you ๐
I've also addressed some of the repeated questions that are coming up in an FAQ below my video, albeit mainly from people who haven't actually watched my video before passing armchair scientist judgment on the method... ๐คฆโโ๏ธ Trolls gonna troll eh? FAQ: 2019-05-15 22:42:09 +0000 UTC

Dear Supporters
Due to this being a lot more complex than it may look, I thought I wasn't going to get a video to you guys this week, but somehow a video has come together! Rejoice! What is about 20 seconds of the video discussing some capacitor issues, was in reality a couple of painful days troubleshooting & researching on forums that I won't bore you with in the end product. Phew!

Dear Supporters,
Boy am I excited to share this with you. It just might turn the love of restoring these classic machines on its head. In a good way.
Here's how to retrobright, using just the sun. No seriously, just the sun. Because, SCIENCE.
As always feel free to suggest any ideas or fixes. Enjoy your early-bird access and thank you for all your ongoing support.

Dear Patrons of a certain tier!
I'm working on a very interesting retrobrighting discovery.
In brief the hypothesis is as follows:
- Diffuse sunlight through window glass, plus fluorescent lighting and air oxidation, over the course of years, causes slow yellowing.
- Bright direct sunlight, over the course of ...

Dear Supporters,
Your early access video is with YouTube now! And as you may have seen in an earlier post, after watching The 8-Bit Guy video called Adventures in Retrobrighting, I was intrigued by the ozone generator method he showed to retrobrite some keycaps. After discussing with him on the phone, I set up to continue the experiment, and test if it would be viable to deyellow an entire intact machine without disassembling it, using only air.
Let me know if you have any...

Hello friends, are there any chemistry experts among you?
I'm having some challenges with the current project. In short, I'm trying to perfect a new no-mess no-streak retrobrighting technique that I'm calling Airbrighting.
It's basically a big bag version of the ozone method you may have seen in forums and a 9-Bit Guy video. (The extra bit is for parity.)
He filled a tiny bag with ozone, placed it in the sun with a Keycap in, and 4 hours later it was de-yellowed.

Dear Avengers I mean Patrons,
A little confidential update to share. This week and next I've been doing voiceover work for the upcoming little movie called Avengers: End Game. Heard of it? ๐ I'm again narrating the Audio Description (like spoken subtitles).
The good news is when you go to see it, if you like, you can request "Audio Description" from the cinema and they will give you a decoder (cool!) to listen to the narration, which is encoded with all showings. Same with I...

Don't you hate it when creators make excuses? It makes me sick. Literally... Yeah, I'm out of action with this flu that's going round all the YouTubers (weird) so probably won't get the intended video out to you guys as planned this week. At least, that's my excuse.
However, the video is super cool and another major project. OOoh. It'll probably be a "Premiere" on YouTube with live chat when it airs publicly, but I'll get it to patrons on qualifying tiers ...
