I know it may seem a little crazy, but I've been looking for a decent translucent CRT for a few years. Earlier this week I was lucky enough to find this Zenith. It has all the best features that would have ever been available on the Clear CRTs. This is because the majority of these were sent to prisons and had very limited features allowed. More to come on this one.

This has become one of my favorite tools over the last 3 months, but it does have a few issues. Thankfully this mod can help with the biggest problem on the meter itself.
Thanks for the support and have a great weekend.

There is a Sony BKM-68X currently listed on eBay for sale. This is the super rare Analog RGB & Component video input card for the BVM A series CRT monitors. It is believed that less than 300 were ever made of this board and many of those were recycled and destroyed leaving a very finite inventory available. The price seems fair to me and is less than I'd sell mine for. The problem is the listing seems a bit fishy. Maybe I'm wrong, but this seller doesn't have a lot of recorded feedba...

Hey everyone. This is a list of all the caps in the 2950q. You'll really only need the electrolytic cap list, but this is a great helpful resource. Thanks Maximilian Decroix for sharing it.

This is the best 75ohm BNC to RCA adapter I've ever found. It is a bit pricey at almost $6 USD each, but well worth it. FYI - I don't get paid by any company to promote an item. These are the exact items I use professionally and I paid full retail for mine.

Hey everyone in Europe. If you are looking for a PVM, here is a pretty good deal from a trusted seller. I've had others buy from him in the past and were happy.
Feel free to PM him through FB.
Thanks

This video will be released on Monday. One of my viewers sent me their documents from the CRT Antitrust lawsuit. It's interesting to see this whole thing evolve over the years.
On another note, I am busy editing lots of repair footage for the next few videos upcoming. Thanks and have a great day!

Hey everyone. I was able to work on a Sony PVM 2950q for a Customer. This includes a lot of recapping, cleaning and calibration. I did a similar study on the caps for this monitor like I did on the D Series BVM in hopes of finding a patern of bad or failing caps. The only problem was none of the caps went bad! That's right, even this PVM from 1994 still had all it's caps pass within tolerance. It makes sense because the PVM was not used very much by its original owner. Look for video...

Hey everyone,
I have made it through the majority of the boards on the D24. I was able to test the wear and tear on these caps. How many do you think went bad out of 140 total?
Thanks for the support and have a great weekend!

Hey everyone, over the last 2 weeks I have been recapping lots of BVM D series boards. I have already recapped all the boards except the ISR board in a BVM D24E1WU. First I have been focusing the majority of my study on the PA board. This is the only internal board that is not in card form with electrolytic caps. It's also a board that is inside the D20's, D24's & D32 BVMs. Today I recapped my 4th PA board. Since doing these recappings, I've been testing and documenting the capacitor life...

Hey everyone. I don't know how I missed this a couple weeks back, but if you are in the Michigan area and looking for a cool CRT, here is a listing for a bunch that will be sold for about $100 each pick-up.
The listing & member can be found in the CRT Pro Monitor Group on Facebook. You can also send the guy a direct PM.

Hey everyone. I know people are always looking for this version of the Gscart switch. It has Scart & VGA RGBS out. It's been out of production for a while. It may go really quickly though.
Good luck.

Hey everyone. I wanted to share this write up by another smart man and friend to the community, Evan Watson. He had an issue I've seen before in his PVM and was able to save the monitor by changing 3 ICs.
Please read the entire process because not changing all 3 will result in blowing out any new components!
Have a great day.

Look for mutch more to come, including a better thumbnail for the video over the weekend. Thanks for your support.
