Hey everyone.
I'm selling my most recent restoration project. This is the Sony PVM 1943MD Trinitron CRT from the videos on the channel. It has been cleaned, recapped, calibrated and the yoke has been set. The picture is great and bright with a 600 TV line count tube.
This is an older PVM, being manufactured in November 1992. It supports BNC Composite Video, S-Video and RGB Sync through BNC. It has a mono speaker that works on all inputs except the RGBS input. This PVM do...

Hey everyone. Here is the PVM I've been working through this week. This one was made in 1992 so it needed a recap desperately. I was able to develop an abbreviated cap kit for it. I've included a picture of the cap list for this model monitor.
I will have a good video coming on this PVM soon... Thanks everybody!

I had a PVM bezel that was damaged while be shipped to me. The bezel had separated from the CRT. Since I found all the parts, I thought I'd try rebuilding the bezel. I used the strongest epoxy I could buy and repaired the corners. It's cured out and ready for a tube test fitting. More to come.
Thanks

I cleaned up the boards today as I eagerly await the delivery of my cap kit. I had to develop this kit from scratch. That's done by individually documenting each cap position and value from inspecting the boards. Then I have to compile an organized order sheet. Next I go to a parts website, personally I use mouser.com. I make a custom order for the CRT by personally selecting each capvitor. I try to always use a Nichicon replacement cap with a High Temperature tolerance.

Hey everybody. In case you missed it, this is the Patreon exclusive presentation on the CRT Master Class I did on my convention tour in 2019. I have been out of town this week, but will be back with some new videos and restorations soon. I found this old clip while I was working on my new CRT masterclass presentation. Unfortunately I found it second hand and could not find the original author/artist so I'll keep this clip a Patreon Exclusive. Interesting thing is that CRT technology actually started earlier than this clip sites. The origin of the Cathode Ray dates back to 1850!

Hey everyone. I have some amazing news. I received a message this morning from my Monitor supplier. He has a couple pallets worth of Sony Pro CRT monitors ready for me to come pick up. Most of them appear to be 8" PVMs, but there are a few larger models in the pictures he sent me. I'll be picking them up this week and will make a video about the haul. I will also put together a list of the models that will be sold. Look for more to come.
