It's Friday, yo! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Updated Patreon -- game features are no longer locked behind my Patreon milestones
  • Updated Patreon Goals to be about more than just games
  • Planned out the menus and all of their components
  • Planned out some of the future updates, including their order

Run From Me 0.1 (The Gameplay Update)

Changelog:

  • Re-added the giantess and the obstacles
  • Modified hero, NPC, and foot movement to feel as good as possible
  • Gave heroes and NPCs the ability to navigate around obstacles
  • Made NPCs collectable by the player and stompable by the giantess
  • Made an easier-to-avoid obstacle set
  • Gave temporary sprites to NPCs and giantess
  • Made the player, heroes, and NPCs 25% smaller

New Friday new me! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Made Undead follow the player even more closely
  • Made each foot ignore NPCs if that foot is already chasing the player
  • Made the feet aim for nearby NPCs if the player is on the opposite side

  • Made the heroes poof back on screen if they fall below the screen limits

Order up! Friday with extra cheese! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Made NPCs and heroes avoid the feet after the feet have stomped
  • Made NPCs and heroes always move away from walls while avoiding the feet if they're close enough to the walls
  • Made NPCs regain their vertical speed if they lost it from bumping an obstacle
  • Cleaned up NPC and hero movement code
  • Make the heroes follow the player much more tightly

Progress Report 5/13/2022

Prepare your booties! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Gave NPCs a new sprite for prototyping
  • Adjusted NPCs' speeds to stay on the screen for 2.75 - 5 seconds
  • Made NPCs' horizontal movement much more toned down
  • Made the NPCs disappear with floating "Saved!" text when they collide with the player
  • Made the NPCs disappear with floating "Sacrificed!" text when they get stepped on

So... many... holidays... Here's what I got done this week:

  • Made the heroes recognize the obstacle waypoints
  • Ensured that the heroes don't try to get waypoints from deleted obstacles
  • Made the heroes check the distance of each waypoint upon recognizing/defining them and pick out the one with the shortest distance
  • Made the obstacle waypoint temporarily override the hero waypoint if it's on screen and above them

Progress Report 4/29/2022

Every time I tried to come up with a Friday intro today, I realized that I already made it in a past post! >.<  Here's what I got done this week:

  • Updated the "Speedy" character to move just like the player, but faster
  • Slowed walking speed and obstacle speed
  • Lowered the maximum stomp height to give the heroes just enough room for a safe space
  • Began work on hero & NPC navigation around obstacles

Run From Me 0.1.1 (Meet the Heroes!)

Changelog:

  • Added three heroes around the player character
  • Each hero can be changed with the '1', '2', and '3' keys
  • Gave each hero their own movement quirk
  • Temporarily removed the giantess and obstacles

Progress Report 3/4/2022

IIIIIIt's Friday! Woohoo! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Made NPCs spawn in with a similar system as the obstacles
  • Made NPCs despawn when they fall below the screen
  • Updated the neck on the 3D model to be shorter and thinner
  • Drew references of the 3D model in 2D to help spot the areas that need sculpting
  • Sculpted the arms, legs, hips, and butt on the 3D model to look better and more stylized
