The Martini Glass, Circa 2001 (NSFW)

Here's one from the vault, a performance with my original martini glass.  This was part of a series filmed by french photographer Christophe Mourthe on a trip he made to Los Angeles. We filmed this at The El Rey Theatre, which is where I did some of my early shows, and where Hugh Hefner first came to see me perform. The original Vontourage, Erica and Heather, are in this video too!

The resolution isn't so crisp, but video footage of that era wasn't very crisp, unless you were...

Taylor Swift Bejeweled

Well, I can finally reveal the big top-secret glamour mission my lips have been zipped about… everyone involved was sworn (and legally bound) to secrecy!

Have you seen the Bejeweled video yet?

No personal cameras or phones were allowed anywhere on this set, so all I really have is this one sneaky snap I took while in glam, and I took a photograph of the corset Catherine D’Lish made. She made two of these, identical looks for me and Taylor. I spent a lot of time with her styl...

Checking In…

Greetings!

I saw a request for a tutorial on how I do my Victory rolls hairstyle as shown in the last couple videos I posted of me from the early 2000s. I wore my hair in 1940s bouffants a lot in the 90s, so admittedly I was faster at it back then. But perhaps I’m just harder on myself now than I was then!

And so, I thought I would ask you all what other types of videos and livestreams you’d love to see. I am not sure how important the Q & A livestreams are for you, ...

Video from the Vault, Part 2

Here‘s part 2 of the video I posted the other day. Again, please remember I am 28 years old here. I don’t think I knew anything about giving interviews yet. But I did have good fashion sense. I still wear both of these vintage dresses still 22 years later!

Video from the Vault, Part 1

Here’s a little something from the vault, footage from 22 years ago when I was interviewed for a French cable TV show. There’s lots of my own archival footage in here, and it’s filmed in the backyard of the house I lived in back then.

It’s funny for me to watch this, I want to roll my eyeballs at nearly everything I say as a 28-year-old. It’s bizarre to hear myself having to address aging, and how at 28 and approaching 30, there was already pressure to defend my age and lie. I...

From the Live Show Archives

A selection of performance photos from before 2006, some of them from more than 23 years ago! They’re taken everywhere from major cities across Europe, to places like Serbia, Russia, Korea, Japan and well beyond.

I stopped at 2006, but will do another gallery of when I think things started getting more elaborate and polished with the tours, and with more incredible feats of costuming and innovation by Catherine D’Lish.

Stay tuned for a video update, with some early show foot...

Ditarielle By Ali Mahdavi

Please enjoy this nonsensical, but well-lit film clip Ali Mahdavi made of me and French chanteuse, Arielle Dombasle. They all came over to my apartment I had in Paris, taped my eyebrows back, and Ali fed me lines to say. I wish we had a BTS video of me asking, “but what does it mean?!?” 😂

Photos from my Michigan Trip

Here’s a collection of photos we took while filming for my documentary in West branch, Michigan.

We’ve been producing the documentary ourselves, so we’re not sure which streaming platform it will end up on yet. We will probably film a few more things before we’re finished.

UPDATE: By request, clothing is nearly all Lena Hoschek, except the squirrel skirt, which is authentic 1950s. The handbag is Ulyana Sergeenko. The pin is my Valiant Heart Brooch, Vivienne Westwood acorn ...

Impromptu Chat with Betony Vernon

My dear friend, author Betony Vernon was here with her new book this week, and staying at the exquisite Paramour, so we filmed this casual chat yesterday. I admittedly made no plan, just a rendezvous with the exquisite Betony, a beautiful space with natural light, and my iPhone.  💋 💋

The Great Photographer Douglas Kirkland (NSFW)

Sadly, today the great photographer Douglas Kirkland passed away. I did a photo shoot with him in 2006.

Many of you will know him as the photographer who famously took the beautiful photographs of Marilyn Monroe in bed. It was his very first photo assignment as a young man, and Marilyn famously dismissed everyone in the room, and said “I need to be alone with this boy.” If you haven’t read about the story, you might like to!

Here are the beautiful photos he took of me, and...

Birthday 💖

Yes, I am 50 today! 💥

It’s not so shocking for me, because as soon as I turned 49, I got asked about 50, so I’ve had a whole year to get used to it! Honestly, I am truly grateful, I feel like I am at the top of my game! I feel physically and mentally stronger than ever. Being constantly reminded (since I was 30!) that I may be put out to pasture as I age because I’m a burlesque dancer… well, I never really felt that my success was owed to my appearance. As I move through the ...

Sidesaddle at Schönbrunn

II finally got my hands on the footage taken in Vienna when we did a press moment for Austria for Life, which is the new name for The Life Ball, currently postponed. I had mere minutes to get sidesaddle tips before getting on the horse, as we were late waiting for someone to arrive. It was a windy day, no helmet, no sidesaddle experience or even recent rides, so I was nervous for sure. He’s a beautiful Lippizaner, very tall, and I am sure he would have rather had his owner on him, not me! I...

Bubble Pop!

Just a funny little clip I happened across today, that time the bubble popped, and of course it was in New York City at the Beacon Theatre! That was the day I learned my bracelets could pop it.

I have videos of every show, but many of them aren’t good quality because the camera is with the production team at the sound and lighting board, often very far from the stage. But I reference them for critique, or to watch the choreography if I haven’t done the act in a while.

More Pics…

A few more photos from my trip that I forgot to include.

I went to the St. Mary’s county fair, and to visit the farm of my host‘s Mennonite friends to see their baby cows, work horses, and their tack shop. There’s no electricity of course, and that‘s where I took a pic of the cat with their handmade leather goods, checked out their handmade bullwhips and embarrassingly tried to explain how I use them for my show.. because one of them asked what I use them for.😅

Sidesaddle Lesson Photo Gallery

I just got back from Leonardtown, Maryland where I spent a several days learning to ride sidesaddle. I had an amazing time. I’m just a student rider; I took dressage lessons for a year or so about ten years ago, but I wasn’t raised with horses, so riding doesn’t come easy. There’s a lot to learn. But I have to say, for all the dressage lessons,  I discovered I really love riding sidesaddle. I like the feeling, and I enjoy the more relaxed legs/feet. For instance, when riding side...

Early Burlesque Show Reel

I know some of you have seen this before, as it was on my app, but thought I’d post it here. The quality isn’t great, but it’s from the early 2000s, and was made from a variety of different clips obtained from that time frame. We have some of the complete clips of these coming for you too!

Tonight’s Don’t Worry Darling Premiere

A little montage of my evening tonight in New York City. Most of you probably already know I‘m in the Olivia Wilde film Don‘t Worry Darling… some of you may have spotted Olivia and Harry at one of the London Palladium shows earlier this year. Tonight was the premiere in New York, so they brought me out for it. It was the first time I’ve seen the film.

Pardon the rough video, and also I know you can’t hear me talk on the red carpet over the screaming girls outside for Har...

Peek from Behind the Curtain…

A peek from behind the curtain: the Latin dance with Christophe Licata. I think this was in Paris at Folies Bergere. This is a combination of dances, including Argentine Tango, Cha Cha, Rumba... and striptease. I cant believe it’s been a year since I did Danse Avec Les Stars!
