“Whore of Babylon”, “Sodom and Gomorrah” BTS

I’ve yet to show any true BTS, yet. Sodom and Gomorrah is wrapped; Whore of Babylon started today, and I WISH the color grading I did was what it looked like in reality. I might show you guys how I color graded this—or, in the very least, what app to use to get some good coloring.

Jim had to take the reigns for “Whore”. He directed me, and got some really sweet shots. What will entail with this segment will be a fire, blood, and…some lusty sacrifices.

Y’all, today’s set is bitchin.

This is the old Jell-o factory in Le Roy, NY. Walking in, it’s like…time has stopped. Papers from 1998 litter the desks; walls are chipped and flaked like something out of Silent Hill. There is something so beautiful and deadly about liminal spaces, and this factory is quite the the pinnacle of such a thing.

I Need Your Help

Alright, so I’ve been brainstorming and brainstorming on the next look for my movie character. David has given me full creative freedom with this look…but I’m stumped.

Sooo…what kind of wardrobe should I wear? It’ll be filmed in a warehouse strictly on POV cameras. Considering I will be basically a, creature, of…whatever sorts…I anticipate that the wardrobe will be primarily dulled.

We Finally Wrapped

Well, y’all, Niuvis came and left. We finally wrapped the last scene of Trypophobic Posession, and she is officially complete. That top picture is my mom, by the way. It was a joy having my mom meet one of my most favorite people in my life. Niuvis did the back and ass SFX. I cooked, I cleaned; I captured some hilarious BTS, and everything was as it should be.

Also, today, Hilton fired me from NY Floral. I was doing social media for a florist in Boca Raton. He was paying me only $250...

Okay….we are heading into the final scenes for Trypophobic Posession. Finally, finally. Tomorrow, I am going to show you all some of how I accomplished the effects I did. This is the first time that I was able to execute practical effects in an old school way.

We are getting down to the cream now. I’ll be finishing up the last scenes of the film over the next week or so. This has been one of the most labor intensive, difficult, stressful projects of my life…but god…it’s so beautiful…all of it.

Trypophobic Posession BTS

I hope you like holes.

Goddamn. Each piece of prosthetic has taken me approximately, in total, over seven hours to make. This is by far the most complex piece of film I’ve done, but fuck if the result ain’t rewarding. I’m filming some BTS sequences for the DVD as well, so people (not you all because you’re not vanilla), can get a little insight into how I do stuff.

“The Forest Hills” BTS

Day 1

Well, it’s been interesting lol. I didn’t unfortunately get any shots of the murder sequences, but I did get some video footage I’ll upload later.

More sneak peeks at the filming. This one, I accidentally knocked over a jar of my dead crickets. The glass shattered right underneath my body. Instead of having Eli stop filming, I wanted them to keep going.

We are a ways out from completion, as Mikel wants things perfect. I believe now I have a better understanding of what he wants, and Methinks he is teaching me to tap into potential I hadn’t seen.

Is this my best? Fuck no, but for the sake of the red, black, and white aesthetic he needs—it’ll suffice. I went back to third-degree silicone this time and said fuck the scar wax. Honestly, scar wax wasn’t working out and the silicone ended up bonding better for the shit I had to do.

I think I was overthinking it and tried to put too much emphasis on the SFX, when I should have been focusing on the acting. I’m fucking STOKED to show you all the BTS behind this.

So, is the black eye contact pointless? Mikel wasn’t a fan of what I did, and I can see some of what he’s saying. It’s hard to integrate black, white and red into the film because of lighting. But, do I lose the eye contact and do bloodshot eyes? I don’t know.

I have to get 30 minutes of footage of me just going fucking insane. And, again, I can’t use any nasty shit like maggots or dead animals. This sucks. I like going 100% hardcore.

As cool as these look…they didn’t quite pass the director’s approval.

It’s a crushing blow to my ego, but I’ll get it right. Still, they looked cool. Who doesn’t like bloody tits?

After-Holiday Blues

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I know for me, it was a pleasure getting four days off, resting (not really), and spending time with Julio and Jim, Emily and Eli.

One thing that has never really changed with me, is the after-holiday blues. Even a confident lass like me struggles with my body big time.
