“Happy Birthday” Tutorial

So, here we go. I think y’all will find this as therapeutic as I did.

Things to note:

Third-degree silicone goes through a variety of stages before it sets. If your design sort of..melts back into goop—don’t worry. You have to keep molding and shaping until it gets to a point where it’s tacky. Once it’s tacky, you can start creating the intricate details you want. I’d say realistically, it has about a 5-10 minute setting time depending on how warm your skin is.

This was a literal layer cake of shadow, color, tones, and layer upon layer of pure awesomeness. I wanted to practice my tones and shading today, and why not do a four hour look?

“Juicy Lucy” Tutorial

“Juicy Lucy”

So. Fucking. Juicy. This took me well over four hours. I finally discovered that maggots do bite (a little), and they’re relatively fast considering their size. Also, the reason why I did not add as many maggots in the mouth is because I did not want to risk Myiasis. If you’re not familiar with that—you’re blessed, otherwise, you know the consequences. I don’t know what these maggots were fed prior to me buying them; therefore, I made the executive decision to play it safe.

“Oracle” Tutorial

Well, I had no earthly idea this character would come out as awesome as she did.

Notes: 

Third-degree silicone MUST not be interchanged within jars. When using it, always have TWO spatulas; one for jar A and one for jar B. Don’t be frustrated if the silicone isn’t setting immediately—it won’t. It takes roughly around ten minutes depending on how much you’ve applied.

What started off as a simple burn look turned into…corn mold. I guess? Ugh…not gonna lie, this took me over three hours to do. It was so much work, but I’m ecstatic with how it truly turned out.
