This week I'd like to highlight a side project Josh has been working on for several weeks. For whatever reason, I felt like illustrating the captivating back story to the comic I posted yesterday. Actually, this isn't entirely true. I was walking in a park earlier in the day and saw two hawks flying and screeching and divingâwhich led me to wikipedia.
I really like practicing this sort of messy-yet-detailed, straight-to-ink style. Is this something y'all would like to see more of?

I had to draw some squirrels (and one chipmunk) in preparation for the comic I posted today because, well, I'm not very comfortable with the little critters. I have a much harder time drawing rodents or mammals in general than birdsâit's the fuzziness! Also fuzziness of shapes!
Birds are easy! It's like a kidney bean with a beak! Mammals have these weird angles, terrible posture, and a judgey gaze.
But anyway, I want to get better at drawing. They've got things to say too!
