Sorry guys, I really honestly hoped to have it well done by now. I ended up pulling an all nighter during the weekend to try and wrap it all up, but that just... didn't pan out. Ended up pretty much collapsing last night and paying back all that lost sleep. Good news of course is that with a proper sleep behind me, I was able to get back to work tonight.

So, I was hoping to have the new build out tonight. And it's exactly like I said. Famous last words. With 0.30 on the sidelines for the time being, I'd been working between two very different builds which... made things a touch messy to say the least. And the original plan had been to create Day 15 in 0.30 and then port it back to 0.27. But I had such an unwieldy mess of code between both builds , it would have been a painful exercise...
So, instead, I decided to fix up the 'WIP' parts ...

Good GOD this is a grueling final stretch!
I've just finished the second pass of the hardest part of Day 15, something that took FOREVER to do. I've still got a decent chunk left, but it's much smoother sailing from this point forward. Most of the artwork is finished, only 1 or 2 pieces are outstanding and they're pretty far along.
As of right now, accounting for time needed for testing and what not, I expect we'll be releasing this update during the coming weekend.

Hey y'all.
If you've been watching closely, you'll notice the July build had a problem. Because of course it did, why wouldn't it? This one was Ren'Py weirdness relating to file continuity, but once we were barking up the right tree was actually quite easily fixed. It did chew up a bit of time though... hey, think of the silver lining, you guys aren't gonna have that problem because I already fixed it!

Holy SHIT what a month it has been.
I've spent this entire weekend trying to get Day 15 in order. In particular, the first sequence after the meeting with Tai was always going to be a difficult thing to write, the reality doesn't even compare to that!
We had some ideas, not a whole lot that really inspired us but it give us something to start with. The hope was that the inspiration would strike as the scene started taking shape... and boy, did it ever...

So before you get too excited, 0.26 is what was going to be released as 0.25b, we just decided to call it 0.26 as we're trying to line up the build numbers between channels. This update is purely technical improvements, addresses both crashes in 0.25 fully and sets things up for the upcoming 0.30 builds. Read more about that below.

The technical work for the most part is going to be rolled into the next major build, version 0.30. I intend to release this in BETA sometime next month but let's see how we go. Exactly one year ago today, June 9th 2020, Sileo: Tales of a New Dawn was released! This was version 0.10 and it contained the first three days of the intro, totaling roughly 16,000 words . Man, what a month it's been... and we're only five days into it!
I'd hoped to spend today working on Day 15, but instead I've spent all this time in the engine trying to fix the latest batch of issues relating to the Model-Based Renderer. One of these issues was indeed a Ren'Py issue, however was fixed in a Ren'Py nightly which we shipped with this months 'a' update. For those whose games are crashing on launch with the following traceback error: Exception: Shader (u'renpy.geometry', 'renpy.solid')
The issue is an old file from the 7.3 version of Ren'Py in your game directory. This file was removed from the game as of the 4K update released at the beginning of this year, but if you've been overwriting your Sileo directory every month, it's probably still there!
Please take a copy of your saves folder (/game/saves)...

In response to the issues with Ren'Py's new renderer (yes, that was the problem, surprise surprise), we've issued a hotfix update which should hopefully get you all up and running again.

Just a quick update to let you all know we're aware of a few technical issues with the latest release relating to the switch to the new renderer. We expected a small amount of issues, but we've ended up with far more than expected. Just letting you know we're looking into it.
Also, just a reminder that plot wise there is a plan for everything. I know this update has been jarring for some. But just remember: there's a reason for everything, just be patient!

The scratch version of the Day 15 content releasing in June is all finished up. From here, it's all about polish and improving what's already there. This new block of content runs right up to the point where it's gonna get very difficult and time consuming to write. The rest of Day 15 is amazing and I can't wait to make a start on it, we're finally gonna start assembling those breadcrumbs and revealing those big twists! I can't wait!
