Bildrath and Parriwimple

This odd couple of villagers are there to provide contrast to Ismark's optimism - Bildrath the mercant is crabby, miserly, and kind to no-one except his overlarge nephew Parriwimple (if then). Parriwimple is meant to be a kind brute, unable to follow instructions and unaware of his own strength, which can lead to disastrous consequences.

Hope you enjoy the images and put them to good use in your campaign. Hope they stay safe!

Argynvostholt Handouts

As your group explores the haunted ruin of Argynvostholt, Curse of Strahd: Reloaded offers a little more context into the politics of Barovia when Strahd was invading. Your players can find these handouts to show what the noble Knights of the Silver Dragon were up against, evil from without and allies begging to sue for peace from within.

As with most of my handouts, because they're much simpler for me to make, I'm offering them to all my patrons regardless of level. I...

February and March To-Do lists.

Hello everyone!

Getting re-organized with some to-do lists in order to show everyone what I’m going to be drawing over the next few months. When I create these lists, I tend to prioritize characters that haven’t already been illustrated (or at least illustrated to my satisfaction). But I’m always willing to hear suggestions!

January

  • Parriwimple and Bildrath

February

  • Yeska
  • Rahadin-Dragon

Sketch Post #2

It's only been two years-and-a-bit, time for my second sketch post! Some digital, some traditional, all Curse of Strahd. And making their Faces in the Mist debuts - Vasili von Holst and Madame Eva. I based Vasili on a rounder-faced, younger Strahd (Sergei, essentially), everything Strahd isn't.

Enjoy!

Portrait of Tatyana

Without those to do him wrong, Strahd would be no one. Tatyana Federova was a beautiful peasant who fell in love with Strahd's noble and devoted younger brother Sergei, immediately throwing both into the path of Strahd's anger and starting the series of events that start the theme of the module.

Tatyana's portrait is only shown once in the module, in a gilded frame in the King's Suite, in order to show the resemblance between her and Ireena, but I thought she deserved an illustration ...

The Werewolf Manuscripts and Journal of Dr. Rudolph van Richten, "Rictavio" wagon sketch

I love making handouts for my players even if we're playing remotely (as my current campaign is, unfortunately) because it helps create a sense of immersion in the story. Curse of Strahd: Reloaded offers a ton of opportunities to make fun props and diary entries for players to read (or ignore) that I feel the core module skips over, and they're relatively easy to make, so I'm offering these for patrons of all levels! Enjoy!

These handouts are to found in two separa...

Act 2 and 3 Magical Items

Magical items in Barovia are extremely rare and valuable, and the module has few to spare. Fortunately, Dragnacarta created a few lore-friendly gifts that can aid the PCs in Curse of Strahd:Reloaded. I've made some illustrations of how I envision them, just in case you or your players would benefit from having them as handouts or as a way to keep track of who's carrying what when they eventually vanish without a trace...

The items are, in order, the Keeper's...

Erasmus van Richten

The sad story of Dr. Rudolph van Richten revolves mostly around the loss of his family, in particular his son Erasmus who was kidnaped, murdered by a vampire, and then spared a horrible fate by his father's wits and empathy. Erasmus returns as a good-natured phantom in van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, and Dragnacarta was kind enough to allow him to assist the players during an arc of Curse of Strahd: Reloaded. Father and son remain separated by the veil between worl...

Happy New Year with Walter Durst

One of the more stomach-churning monsters in Curse of Strahd is also one of the first you encounter - that of the flesh mound that was once the infant Walter Durst. "Death House" is one of the most replayed and hotrodded features of the module, no less so as in CoS: Reloaded, and this is the art I presented to my players during that session so long ago. Be warned, Walter may get redone once more to be fully in code wit...

Happy Holidays from the Blue Water Inn

My players have told me that having their characters return to the Blue Water Inn after their latest mission/quest/thing feels like a hug, so I thought I'd do my best to portray the most adorable family in the whole Dread Domain, the Martikovs of Vallaki. The consensus seems to be that the module art portrays them more as a group of rather suspicious-looking nobles than a family trying to keep their inn afloat (whilst also keeping an ear open for anything that can be used against the Darklord...

Stella Wachter, Recovered

A piece to help you demonstrate the difference the PCs have made in the town of Vallaki at the end of Act II, Arc H. Stella is no longer trapped and dying in the Ethereal (having never been a cat-girl), Victor has his friend back, and Fiona Wachter's daughter is rescued from a horrible, twilight predator that's been stalking her family. Things are looking up in Barovia (at least, for the moment), and here's the proof for them to savor.

The Abbot, 2nd Phase

I delved into biblical horror for this one, as (spoilers) The Abbot from CoS:RRL isn't really a deva anymore, but a fiend, duped and seduced by the Dark Powers into devising its own plan to free Strahd and Barovia. Doomed from the start, The Abbot's plan and powers are revealed to the PCs, as well as a form that more accurately depicts what the Dark Powers have made him into.

I based this image off of old monastic illustrations of cherubim (not cute little...

Tome of Strahd - Reloaded

In Dragnacarta's Curse of Strahd: Reloaded, the Tome of Strahd provides some limited exposition at the beginning of the adventure, most of which can be found in the original module. The Tome clearly has a great deal more significance than this early lore-drop, but its real purpose isn't revealed until much, much later...

Dr. Rudolph van Richten

The doctor's been portrayed in a number of ways, like a soft, unassuming little man with white tufts of hair and an odd smile (Ravenloft 2nd Ed. module), or the owlish monster hunter with amazing hair and a hat of disguise in Curse of Strahd. I chose to portray him a little further on in his journey, after several years of loneliness has taken its toll. As an old man myself, I can sympathize with the cursed doctor, having ...

Grateful

Thank you so much for supporting me.

Just over a year ago, I started this Patreon to help encourage me to make my own art. I know there are folks out there who just like to grab the images of monsters, items, or NPCs for their games and that's wonderful, but it really means a lot that folks want to contribute to me creating things that make me happy and fulfilled as an artist.

I just wanted to thank you for being here for this project, hopefully for others, and wish you all the ...

Anastrasya Karelova, 2nd Phase

Anastrasya Karelova, the most diplomatic of Strahd's brides, sloughs off her courtly beauty when combat with her reaches its climax; she reveals her true face, that of a bloated, loathsome bat-creature slavering for the blood of the living!

Hope the sight of her is as fun and memorable for your players as it was for me to make!

Borderless NPC Tokens for Curse of Strahd-Reloaded

Another request I've seen is for the CoS Reloaded tokens with any borders, since Foundry VTT (and only virtual tabletops, hopefully) has an option to give your tokens borders. As I expect most people will want to make all their border-less tokens more or less the same, I'm offering them in a .zip file for you to download. It's another fairly large file (about 47mb).

Wait, you wanted your tokens to have borders on them? I'll attach the borders so you can overlay the...

Bordered NPC Tokens for Curse of Strahd-Reloaded

I've created an easier way for you to download all the Curse of Strahd - Reloaded NPC tokens that I've done with a simple .zip file. Thanks for those of you that have suggested it!

At 50mb, it still pretty big, so for those of you in areas without high-speed internet, it might take a while, but it's still likely faster than downloading them one by one.

Want matching borders so you can make your own? No problem, they're attached to this post, just download and...

Ludmilla Vilisevic, 2nd Phase

In proper Dark Souls fashion, most of the major villains in CoS:Reloaded have a second combat phase to keep things varied and interesting. Just when you think Ludmilla's down for the count, the music swells, her attacks change, and her facade drops to reveal her preferred strategy, her real face; in this case, a fiend that creates voids of darkness against any sources of light and peppers her victims with crystalline deposits of her m...

Vallaki Festival Posters

Baron Vallakovich loves his fetes, feeding the townsfolk the rumors that busy hands and a smiling face works wonders to deter the Devil’s plans. Here’s a mix of handouts you can use in your game. Plaster them around the town to advertise the power of positive thinking and encourage the PCs to do the same. All the art is either mine or from free-to-use public clip art.

The Vallakoviches

Baron Vargas Vallakovich and his wife, Baroness Lydia Petrovna.

Took good bit of prompting from the Whittier's module art, but with a bit of nudging from Dragnacarta, I mixed in a bit of the descriptive text (which describes him as dark-haired) and some costume changes to reflect his noble stat block. Also, to set the parents apart from their son, Victor - hope you guys enjoy the creative liberties taken in name of fun.

Hope you like, and feel free ...

VTT Tokens for Curse of Strahd:Reloaded

I've recieved more than a few requests for a full set of transparent tokens, so here you are! Barovian Relics

One of the big puzzles that snags new DMs to the module is "How do I get my players to Barovia?" One clever conceit employed by Curse of Strahd: Reloaded is the idea of the Barovian Relic, items that symbolically resonate with a particular character's goals or wants and motivates them towards their first encounters with the horrors of Barovia.

“…His pale, near-translucent flesh contrasts sharply with the dark, dripping red that stains his trembling hands, each finger tipped with a long, bloodied claw. Beneath his blood-matted hair, his red eyes burn with a feral glow, his batlike nostrils twitching madly…”

Ismark the Great

Spoilers to follow! A creation of Dragnacarta’s for Curse of Strahd: Reloaded, Ismark Antonovich was burgomaster of the village of Barovia some hundred years before the events of the module. Reeling from vampire attacks, he and two fellow adventurers braved Castle Ravenloft’s catacombs and escaped with a long-lost treasure that would save the village and earn him the moniker of Ismark the Great.

Sadly, his descendant hasn’t enjoyed the same success… y...

Argynvostholt Handouts

Hello again!
