Episode 169 - Finally at anchor for some skinny dipping before our lift out!

It's so good to be at anchor, even if it is in the industrial part of Crotone, Italy! Free and wild for a couple of nights before we're lifted out onto the hard in a dusty Italian boat yard to redo our antifoul and fix a seacock as it's a serious sinking hazard!

Beaus Birthday 🎈

We run our episodes a few mths behind realtime! But it was actually Beaus birthday this week in real time! And thanks to one of you lovely Patrons (huge thank you Angus ❤️) we have had some real fun birthday treats!! Episode 168 - First Sail of the Season After Gearbox Rebuild!

After weeks with a broken gearbox and waiting on parts we are finally all fixed and back out here sailing! It feels wonderful to have the sea breeze through our hair again and water running under Pickles keels!

Episode 167 - New Gearbox on our Catamaran, but we’re SINKING!

This weeks been dramatic and frustrating!! With leaky through hulls which could sink us to gearbox and clutch rebuilds, we really have had a hard few weeks! But this episode you see us fix our gearbox and clutch, get on with some other boat jobs, like fitting a new wind transducer up the mast, Nicky battling an eye infection and cooling off in the cool blue ocean! And lastly but most excitingly we go on a shake down sail ready for next weeks big sail where we sail to Crotone to fix our sinkin...

We made it back to Greece!

We are extremely happy to have finally check out of Turkey (which was an absolute nightmare) and are checked back into Greece! The waters are clear and beautiful, the weathers still warm and lovely and the Greeks are bloody smashing 🤗

We did have some fun times in Turkey though and know you’ll enjoy the episodes when they come out, in the mean time, here’s a couple of pictures from one of our last evening there, having a brill time with a beach fire 😃👍

Another Crazy Fun Day for the Pickles!

As you all know our episodes run behind real time, but I thought as your our patrons you might like to see what we’ve actually been up to this week! So here we are on our very, very fun day out in Daylan, Turkey! Boat trips (and I’m not in charge, woowoo!!) mud baths and some ancient ruins thrown in! Episode 166 - HOUR SPECIAL! Boatlife - 1st Sail, Engine failure and a family of Half Naked Flashers!

Hour special for you this week guys! Lots of raw honest footage of what real boat life is actually like. We do a bit of regular boat maintenance then set off on our first sail this season, until disaster strikes and we have major engine failure losing our gear box and clutch!!! Episode 163 - Sailing Pickle Family Hit a Snow Storm on a Road Trip passing through the Alps!

Its time to pack up our beloved yacht Pickle and leave her snug and safe in our chosen winter Marina in Italy, while we take a very cool road trip back to the UK, encountering a crazy snowstorm in the middle of the Alps as we try and pass our way through! Episode 162 - Ship Wreck on the Beautiful Italian Coast!

After a gnarly few days at sea we are relieved to make it to our winter marina! We have lots of winter boat jobs to do, so we can prepare Pickle for the winter months, and leave her safe and well it Italy while we travel to visit family for Christmas in the UK.  This week has been a crazy week as we tried and failed to save a stranded  vessel. it was so heartbreaking getting no help from coastguard and police and being totally helpless during a storm to stop the vessel being washed ...

Episode 161 - WARNING! Extremely noisy and Stormy Sailing Aboard Pickle Albania to Italy!

Last Sail of the Season and wow what a sail it is! Be warned this episode is a very noisy and stormy sail over a few days! We head back to Pickle at Orikum, after our very fun road trip exploring some wonderful parts of Albania, we truly love it here! And as soon as we get aboard we have to head out into the big blue! Episode 160 - Sailing Pickle family visit the 50 meter deep Blue Eye in Albania!

What an amazing country! It has it all, stunning scenery, beautiful natural wonders, protected national parks and untouched rivers, crazy well preserved Roman ruins, fantastic friendly and kind people with their fabulous traditions and crafts and so much more! Poorly Sailor

It’s tough when you get sick living on a sailboat! Especially when your somewhere very remote and have to beat into the wind and swell for hours and hours to reach a town and find a hospital before my septic Bursitis turned to septicaemia! Feeling rather under the weather, but I now have very strong antibiotics and am hopeful within a few day I should start to feel human again! Fingers and toes crossed guys! 🤞

Episode 159 - Sail to Orikum and Roadtrip across Albania!

What a very cool start to our week, we sail nicely into Orikum Marina, sort out all the essential paperwork and hire ourselves a car to go off exploring across Albania. Thankfully we got some very sound advise regarding roads(unsafe tracks throughout the mountains) to avoid and we get under way with some fun stops along the way admiring stunning scenery, local goat herders, fantastic castles and sample some very scrummy Albania food.

We found our own little piece of tranquility today, after a short sail we anchored off this deserted island and had fun splashing around in the sea in these cute little beaches for the afternoon #peaceandquiet

Episode 158 - Sailing Life - Kicked Out of an Abandoned Military Base in Albania!

We have a very cool isolated anchorage off Sazan Island which is part of a National Park in Albania. We try and explore the island and some of the military abandon buildings, but are soon caught in the little military harbour and chased off, we find refuge further a field in another cool little bay! The Albanian Bunkers and deserted buildings are everywhere and make for some very interesting adventures! Including diving on a shipwreck just off the coast next to our anchored Pickle.

Wakeboarding!

Little glimpse of Bears first attempt at wakeboarding today! It was a lot harder than we thought! But loads of fun!

Episode 157 - Stern Anchor Shenanigans in Albania!

Sail, sail, sail and sail some more! We have found that the North West coast of Albania is exceptionally shallow, with some rather tricky anchorages which have unmarked fisheries everywhere and depths which are out by meters and meters!! dangerous times when we find ourselves running to find shelter in huge swallow swelly bays!

Bears 10th Birthday!

I know it’s weird as we run so far behind on YouTube but here’s a cool pic from Bears 10th birthday celebrations yesterday! So glad to share it with you guys! We had an amazing meal with freshly caught fish and watched the ballet at the local Bodrum castle festive in Turkey 🇹🇷 what an amazing evening and all was paid for as a treat from a follower!!!! We feel exceptionally spoilt and very very lucky! Thank you everyone ❤️

Episode 156 - Sailing in Albania, fighting fishing nets and running from a storm, No shelter!
