i finally decided to properly start drawing the first 13 pages of shallow sleep! 

i'm still working on and fixing parts of the script for the final chapters, but that doesn't mean i can't already work on the pages themselves at the same time x)

there are a few things i still need to figure out regarding colouring, paneling, etc etc as it's going to be a different kind of workflow than MUTED, mostly because i'm trying to make shallow sleep look a little more like a webcomic while sti...

🤣 this image was a group effort, because i couldn't decide between the lotor and the detroit become human request, so it was suggested i combine the two.

that gun wasn't planned either, but he needed something in his hand and so - yea one thing led to another.

i'm actually quite pleased with the result and it turned out to be very fun to draw/paint :) 

also i have ZERO experience drawing guns so i cannot guarantee it looks correct or that he's holding it correctly LOL

shallow sleep - scenery studies

i wanna do things properly this time and plan ahead, which means i have to visualise the places that are important for the story before i dive right into them ° A°);; i spent hours hunting down photographs that i could use for reference because there's no way in hell i can immediately draw this from imagination. i started with this part of the underworld. the right one was my first sketch, from that i decided on a colour scheme and tried to draw it again a little cleaner to see how it would wo...

a sunday doodle (+stream postponed ;;)

hey guys 💕

i just wanna let you know that i can't stream today as planned ; -;) it's incredibly hot again today, my flat has reached a solid 30°C (roughly 86°F??) already, my laptop is BOILING and i'm afraid to overheat it even more with all the streaming software and stuff ; _;) furthermore, i can't even use my air con today because after sitting in front of the damn thing all day yesterday i woke up this morning with a WONDERFUL pain in my ear which i can't seem to get rid of with pain ...

this was completely unplanned, all i wanted to do was warm up but then 5 hours later here we are.

we haven't seen them in the comic together for quite a while, and i missed drawing them both ; ;)

i tried painting on layer again (except the background) and i enjoyed the process, but this is still not really what i want my art to look like *squints eyes* however, it was a fun exercise &i'm rather pleased with the result :3

muted WIP + hating everything you create

it was hard to decide on a preview panel to show for this episode since i felt like everything would just be a spoiler already lol but this'll do.

i'm finally at the colouring stage T_ T) it took me all of last week to finish the lineart for 7 pages, which is unusual for me. normally it can be done in 2-3 days if i focus properly. but eh, didn't happen this time LOL

artists are always told to never talk bad about themselves or their art publicly because if they say "boy this piece sucks"...

since we haven't seen a lot of kai so far in chapter 3 i wanted to at least doodle him again real quick (i'm totally not procrastinating at all because i once again feel like i have forgotten how to draw my own comic cries)

so this is me messing around on a single layer for 25 minutes and not fixing colour balance afterwards ;;;;;;

let me throw another post at you today, since i'm still not able to focus but i wanted to be at least in SOME way productive lol

having a coloured reference of leo probably can't hurt, and having a set of shallow sleep bust drawings is also a nice thing...!

i'm painting all on one layer (except the lineart), i tried to choose a few colours instead of going too wild but as with charon it's gonna turn out very saturated and sparkly again, no doubt.

no rough sketching with pencil today, i went at it with a faber castell pitt artist pen immediately.

nothing too fancy, but i felt good when i looked at the results, despite all the horrendous mistakes in them.

turns out i can enjoy drawing wonky houses and landscapes ; -;)
