Ballon Fiesta Art Show

So we got in at the last minute to the Rio Grande Balloon Fiesta Art Show here in Albuquerque. It’s that time of year again when all the crazy hot air balloon enthusiasts invade and take over Albuquerque. This is a super nice art show and we’re glad we managed to get in. Santa Fe Ren Faire

Here’s our booth this year at the Santa Fe Ren Faire at the beautiful Rancho de Las Golondrinas in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It’s been a lovely show so far, if a bit on the hot side. Seduction WIP01

So here is the next Egyptian piece I am doing, this time of Bastet, sister (maybe twin?) to Sekhmet. Bastet is traditionally known as “The Perfumed One” and her image was used on perfume vessels. She is also the playfully sexual goddess, among other things. She is counterpoint to Sekhmet’s ferocity and rage.

Here I’ve put down the first few layers of watercolor. I will begin working on the colored pencil here soon. Aiming to have this one finished later today :)

Flagstaff Art in the Park

So here is (part of) our booth here at the Flagstaff show. The weather is beautiful, we’re adjacent to the farmer’s market today, and we’re enjoying this wonderful show.

I’ve been busy with prepping for and doing the shows in June, so there hasn’t been much art. But the good news is that this is my last show until August. Sandra will go to Pennsic War at the end of the month, but I will stay home and work on art (and writing, hopefully). So that means more art for you guys, and ...

Sorry about the radio silence for the last two weeks guys. Life got really hectic there for awhile. Sandra got a huge order from the gallery in Colorado Springs so I had to help her with that, then immediately afterwards it was time for the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow here in Albuquerque. Art vs. Artist... and General Update.

I am back home from the Norman Medieval Fair, which pretty much bombed because of the winter weather conditions at an outdoor show :/ Oh well, moving on. I have a -lot- to get caught up on here at home, and now my shoulder is telling me I did too much in setting up/taking down the booth at the ren faire, and yeah. Kinda jacked...

Freezing my @$$ off in Oklahoma

Just saying a quick hello to you guys from Norman, Oklahoma. We’re set up at the Norman Medieval Fair, and if you haven’t seen the weather it got down in the teens last night. The high today was only 40, with a wind chill. So yeah, I’m all bundled up in Spirit Hood, trying to keep my nose warm 😬 Rumchata helps 😉 At least tomorrow will be a bit warmer.<br><br>Looking forward to being home in MUCH warmer New Mexico next week. Can’t wait to get back to arting! 🎨

Birthday Present!

I just wanted to share with you guys what my Tribal Hunter Ninjafox surprised me with today for my birthday. OMG you are SUCH a sweetheart Allison! Just waving hello to you my Patrons from sunny Northern California! I am at Pantheacon and am having a wonderful time! I adore redwood trees, so here I am taking a few moments to soak up some sun and some redwood love outside the hotel (yes I broke my sunglasses ☹️).

Texas Furry Fiesta!

I just got back home from Dallas, Texas last night where I had a wonderful time at Texas Furry Fiesta!

2018!

Live Streaming!

So I am finally set up to live stream. I honestly have no idea what I am doing, so for now I am doing open streams for the public to get the bugs ironed out and to figure out how all this works. After January 1st, though, streams will be for you my Patrons only!

I will be streaming today, Saturday Dec 9th from 1PM MST (Mountain (Denver) Time) until around 3 or 4, or whenever I'm done.

Morning Yote - Vol. 2

Our apple thief has been hanging around lately, pilfering apples and whatever she can steal from our orchard (much to the consternation of our dogs), and I woke up this morning to find her once again slinking brazenly into our yard.

I watch her from my office/studio and the kitchen, which both face the yard.

Here’s our booth at MileHi Con in Denver this weekend. Next weekend Sandra and I will be back in the Mile High City for Colorado Country Christmas, the first of our holiday shows. After that we have a short break before our Thanksgiving show, and I’ll be doing more art then. Stay tuned!

Morning Yote

We have a little orchard on our property and the local coyotes love coming in and pilfering the fallen fruit. Saw this healthy yote with a beautiful winter coat this morning from our kitchen window chomping down apples. So cute! I need to draw more coyotes (and I wish my phone had a better camera).

Wuffies!

Balloon Fiesta!

So we managed to get into the Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival Balloon Fiesta show here at the last minute. This is a great show that is highly attended (because of the Balloon Fiesta) and it's local! Sandra took this photo this morning just outside of the big tent they have set up for the art show at the casino. Pretty impressive sight to see!
