This is late, so this last WIP goes out to everyone.  I think it just needs color (and to fix what must have been a layer issue with the SCU armbands in panel 5).

So this'll end up being posted for everyone else as a Sunday morning page, after I've had a chance to color it.  If it is posted Sunday, it'll be ironic based on Lucy's solution.

Moving along with this.  It'll probably be late, maybe a Friday or Saturday page.

Pulse 510 & 511 WIP

So, what happens is that the SCU are going to do two things- send a team to visit Annie's room to see if she is there, and also send a team to the location she was seen.  Annie says she doesn't have enough time or power left to get back, and Lucy says that she has a bad plan.

So, Annie and Charlotte are talking with Lucy, suggesting the SCU will be arriving at Annie's known room to confirm if she's there as part of their investigation.  There's no way for Annie to get back there in time.  If they can trick them into thinking she's not outside, they might decide the search is unneeded.  Lucy says she has an idea, but it's not great.  Then the SCU arrive outside Annie and Lucy's room.

Moving along with this.  In order to move on to the next page being about Rikku completely avoiding the scheme and goofing off, she'll looked more and more pressured here, so she'll probably look really stressed in the last panel.

So top panel set, Rikku says that she has to use the materia this time.  Then complains that everyone is carrying something fragile.

Second set, Yuffie might say in "ninja sneak", then "ninja attack", then "ninja complete" as he scares Rikku in...

I kept trying to come up with what the initials for the superhero police might be.  I originally wanted it to end up being the "ICU", but couldn't come up with a great choice for the "I".

The "Superiority Control Unit" sounded really tough, so I went with that.  It'll be the "SCU" instead.

If you look really closely, Annie's holding some tech.  She's not stupid enough to leave empty-handed.

The page is late, so this goes up for everyone.

Panel 1: The villain recounts what's going to happen, that the group who polices rogue heroes will be coming after her.  I think it's the "ICU".

Panel 2: completely redrew Annie here, thinking you'd see more of her because the desk was at about her waist level.  There's clearly a countdown as the villain says goodbye.

Okay, started inking.  I erased Annie from panel two because I thought she was on the wrong level compared to the desk.  It should be more from her waist to head in the panel.

I also erased her leg in the last panel because I thought their poses seemed too similar.

I'm not sure Annie's breasts are big enough in panel 3.

I think what I'm going to do is show Yuffie's using the materia without any concern.  In her first set of powers, she might say "ninja" this and "ninja" that.  Maybe ending with "ninja complete", scaring Rikku.

In her second set of panels, she's just covering her eyes and using the materia.  In the last panel I had a good joke, but I wonder if I need to focus on Rikku feeling pressure.

Okay, I wanted this storyline to tie into the hotsprings story where Annie was worried about Tabitha stopping a criminal before they were allowed to be active heroes.  This is only something that could happen now, because they'll be official superheroes soon (after the tournament arc with the other girls in similar suits).

I tried to keep the animal talk in the villains speech.  hopefully it's okay, I when through a bunch of different versions.  ...

Annie is tricked, and the villain burns off her costume to search her identity in the hero database (correctly assuming she was in a disguise because she's not allowed yet to fight crime).

Okay, I wanted this to be a montage, and it had to connect to page 10.  That means Rikku had to be stressed out about lying, and we had to go through several breaks around town to use the materia.

Trip out #1:  Rikku fails again, but lies again to Yuffie.

Trip out #2: I just thought something funny with Yuffie.  She might sneak up to Rikku and scare her in the last panel.

Trip out #3: Rikku is getting more emotional.  But she still lies to Yuffie.

Long Hair Annie

I had this picture from 2021 almost inked, so I thought I'd finish it up.

I kinda wonder if I'm going to give Annie long hair at some point in the comic.  Her appearance has mostly stayed the same through the comic.

Annie tries to reveal the villain, but there's a device there that burns off her disguise.  It then takes a picture of her and identifes her in the hero database-- mentioning she isn't authorized to be a superhero.

I wasn't sure what kind of outfit to give Charlotte.  I considered something sexy, if there were any past events that suggested a certain outfit, or giving her the other outfit I considered for Annie (the blue slightly birdish one).  BUT I thought something bizarre made the most sense.

Most of what's incomplete is in panel 5, although I notice I've forgotten to draw the tracker.

What happens is that Charlotte finally shows up, but in a strange outfit.  Annie leaves to take on the boss, who comments that she used electrical powers as a last resort, meaning it wasn't something she wanted to show off.  That it might be a clue to her real identity.

Okay, in panel one, I now realize the continuity error of having Rikku in that "club president" shirt, if I had her switch back out of it on page 8.

I wanted to include food in each shot, because I've tried to include that in most of Rikku's outings as a joke.

I wasn't sure what to do with panel 5.  I thought I needed to have one of the three leads topless by this point, so I thought Rikku had to be topless in this panel.  I considered a spa, but maybe a really silly one...

Just something normal.  I tried to keep them in common color schemes, which meant grays for Tifa and green for Yuffie.

Annie gives in an uses her final resort of showing off her electrical powers, then Charlotte arrives-- in a really strange costume.  Annie hobbles off to break through the last door to confront the villain.

Okay, I think I'm happy with the dialog.

I'm behind on this.  I'm not sure if the art is done or not.  I wonder if I should do more for Annie's thrusters and smoke from it in the middle panels.

What happens here is that Annie discovers lots of broken robot animals and debates the villain.  Lucy uses the drones to fight a door, but then the robot hurts Annie's leg-- obviously Charlotte will jump in to help her next.
