1. choose a room sound that matches your song (pop in just a small amount of reverb)
2. take one element to reverb narrow/or process oddly to match emotional intent
3. ??
4. Profit
Seriously though, these instagram accounts tend to be a bit over dramatic so always question them and how they would potentially benefit your mix.

The beat is definitely good, the vocal will need the most work. With songs like this it's very hard to get that right as it's extremely limited regarding the amount of tracks.

Rule of thumb is the emotional intent of the song, second clean it up after with an eq accordingly. Make sure to experiment with convolution reverb to really focus on the intent of the song.

Use the send knob to set the amount of reverb you like. As a suggestion I would only push the reverb till you can just hear it for the drum room. Don't make it too wet out of the box, can get a little messy, and please do not put in the kick drum.

When you need real instruments sample it from YouTube :). A go to to add real flavour to any of your songs. Just make sure to warp correctly and watch out with Beat mode as it is a bit iffy if you warp too much

Hey guys,
My internet is completely loopy in the studio and I need to go out to sort this. So, this week I will not be releasing anything on YouTube or Patreon as I can't upload anything.. argh.

Bit of a warning here. The digitakt was recorded off the grid, so all the instruments do not line up.

Hey guys,
The limiter with adjusted gain is really nice for anything transient heavy. Just put it on and shave off the transient.

Sorry for that RX7 did not playback audio.
On that loudness part, the references I get in for pretty heavy Techno music is now also about -9 lufs and I think that says quit a lot about this song

How you perceive sound is also something you need to take into consideration. I highly suggest headphones if you are in a sub par room and sonarworks.

Mess with the wav form and the filter types to fit it to your song :). Also throw on a slap delay

Main take away, put the song in mono and mix. Once it's balanced in mono go back to stereo

Hey guys,
This is something I have no experience with as I find it difficult to understand how you can critique something without fixing it. So, I fixed what was critiqued without any filter (no offence intended). Last thing to add to the list,
put the music in the front and the drums in the back a bit :) (only this one time though haha)
Is this something interesting for the wall?

I just noticed the volume shape was just not sitting right. I suggest you update the bootsandcats volume shaper to this shape or download the attachment and delete the previous version :)
