I know, vacuums aren't very exciting, but I really needed one to help keep the animal hair out of my paintings. I got one with the most suck power, which would have been out of my budget without your help.

I always wanted to design a werewolf that had more of a wolf body. This one is VERY canine, and it was a fun experiment, but I think I'll throw in a little more human in there next time.
I included a PSD for anybody with programs who want to play with it.
Amethyst dragon
Soooo, I grew up with Dungeons and Dragons, and because I'm old, I have been with it since NEARLY first edition. I always really liked the gem dragons but they didn't make it into the regular 3ed monstrous manual (they were in some other book but the style was really unusual? Not bad, but not Todd Lockwood's) so I've decided to try updating them, myself.
Here's my first pass, which is FINE, but I'm now comparing it to the Lockwood drawings, studying the linework, and I'm going to have...

Since I can't seem to get up the energy for big paintings in the winter I'll just focus on little ones.

Two stages of a commission painting here. The lighter one is earlier. I darkened up the whole image so that I could sculpt with tones (it had been too light to do so, especially in that bright cheek area.)
I also started using a rake brush that really is wonderful for form and fur.
A sketch page
I always have an absolutely terrible crash-and-burn period over winter, especially February. I'm just so tired of the coldness and darkness and my creativity is at 0. And yet it always catches me by surprise and I try to fight it with sun lamps, vitamins, exercise. Nothing much seems to work. I feel like the frustration really comes through in my notes XD

Mind's Eye WIP
Right now this is just a smushy conceptual speedpainting, and it doesn't LOOK like a lot, but man, I was really grinding away with my brain gears considering the compositional elements. It was a lot of hard work with not a lot of pay-off. But I'll learn a little more and come back to it later, and maybe I'll suddenly understand how to arrange it better ( I HOPE?????)

Things are going pretty alright here! I have been going out into the woods a lot, which feels amazing. Unfortunately it's been turning cold and wet, which makes it harder (for me!) to get out. I'm very cold-sensitive. Inherited it from my mother. When I was a kid she used to jokingly say that she was a reptile and now I feel it!!
I've been having a lot of trouble moving the photos from my adventures from my iphone to my computer....
