Hey everyone!
As you know, Pino is in Japan, and we, are back in Montreal until February, to spend time with family and friends. Some of you have been asking, "What's next for hundredrabbits?"
Well, we're back to the drawing board, researching the things we will need to know and need to have, to sail across the Pacific back from Japan to Alaska — And what our goals will be once we get back to the west coas...

We left Japan, leaving Pino behind... for a time. It's not forever. We want to spend more time cruising there and in order to do that, we need to leave for a few months — that's the truth of it. We spent 3 1/2 years trying to get there, we're not ready to leave just yet. We will return soon enough. In the meantime, we'll continue to do vlogs on our land travels and ongoing projects.
We're happy that we'll get to see our friends and family in Canada again, it's been ...

Hello everyone!
Here's a story of our time in Minamiise, with anecdotes about Japan and some good sailing moments. I had so much to say about this place. Hope you guys like it. If you want, you can also read it on our website.
As always, thank you for being so supportive. You guys are the best.
Enjoy.

Hello everyone!
Just added 40 minutes of ambience from our recent videos to the Hundred Rabbits soundtrack.
You can listen to this pretending you are in a capsule, adrift, on a sunless shore...
"I'll make a voice like all of time and all of the fog that ever was; I'll make a voice that is like an empty bed beside you all night long, and like an empty house when you open the door, and like trees in autumn with no leaves." -Ray ...

This month, we traveled to Tokyo with plans to visit Odaiba by bike. We did, but the trip ended there. Accidents happen.
The accident gave us a chance to dive back into games, and to discover the Japanese TV show Butt Detective. We'd like to thank our friend Chase for driving us around to the show and to some restaurants (due to my injury), would have been sad to leave Tokyo without some good Chabuzen ramen.
In this video, we also talk about 2019-07-31 04:48:11 +0000 UTC

Ronin is our studio's image processing tool.
In 2016, somewhere on the shores of Mexico, my laptop's logic board failed. Short of a computer, we devised ways to keep working. Ronin came into being during that time, but this first version wasn't flexible enough, and it eventually fell into disuse.
Some countries/years later, Ronin is back. We made this video to show you some of the basic functions. We are super happy with what we've made. It is ...

How did the Hundredrabbits ecosystem come into being? It's a long story, but here's a summary.
What is the Hundredrabbits tools ecosystem?
It is the set of tools that we've made, and that we use on a daily basis to do art, music and writing.

The rainy season (梅雨 "plum rain") has started.
We're spending more time indoors — this isn't a problem, not for us. We've got plenty of projects to keep us busy!
In this video, we show the progress we've made with the Monome NORNS (tutorials and experiments) and Circa. There is also footage from Devine's

Recently, someone asked us this:
"What's it like to spend months at sea, and to now cross the world twice (by plane) in just a few days?"
"It's like taking the train instead of biking between the two locations. You miss everything, plus it's long and stressful." Devine replied.
Taking the plane after crossing the pacific is strange, while in flight we'd look down at the ocean and imagine Pino there, sails up and riding the waves...
This month we tra...

In this one, we spend our remaining days in Shimizu cycling around, building a DIY soda stream and getting prepared for our trip to the UK next month. As you know, Devine will be performing and giving an ORCΛ workshop at Algomech festival 2019.
The activity around ORCΛ has been kind of insane lately, it's been keeping us busy..! We love looking through twitter and instagram in the mornings to see your works.

Finally got around to writing a blog post about our arrival to Shimizu. The post is entitled "Hello Fujisan", appropriate considering this gorgeous mountain was the first thing we saw when we arrived near our goal.
It was... a wild ride — kind of an understatement actually. We described it all in detail in here for you guys, it also serves as a reminder to ourselves that we're stronger than we think.

We've arrived in mainland Japan! We missed our target, we were supposed to head into Wakayama but the wind didn't permit. So, instead we pulled into Shimizu port further north. We hadn't planned on coming here at all, but now that we're here we're enjoying it.
The sailing community is amazing. Local sailors have adopted us and are making sure we're happy and comfortable. In truth, it's been kind of overwhelming! Japanese omotenashi is very intense, we're not used to that kind of atten...

Four years ago we decided to teach ourselves how to sail in order to return to Japan.
We have finally arrived.
This was our toughest sail yet, but Pino got us there. We are in Shimizu, licking our wounds and enjoying life in our favourite place in the world.
Thank you for your support, what a crazy ride this was.

I've written a blog post about our feelings on arriving in Japan, and on our impressions about the island of Chichijima. Read the whole story here.

We used to make many trips to Japan by plane, but getting there by your own e...

You have no idea how glad we are to be here.
We're on an island that is east of Tokyo, but it's still Japanese soil and we are so happy and proud of what we did! It was a 21 day sail from Majuro to Chichijima, it wasn't an easy ride, and many things did break on the boat, including our inverter, tachometer, some sail slides and our wind meter (a revenant). But now we're here and we can relax a bit, we plan to spend two weeks here, having delicious Japanese food, taking long walks ...

Since we've arrived here in Ogasawara, we've been buying local produce and cooking everyday. Now that we have access to japanese ingredients again, we finally made an okonomiyaki recipe.

It requires a few specialized ingredients, but in the recipe we suggest s...

I know what you're thinking - we were supposed to sail to Tuvalu no? Well. Yes. We decided to skip it. We don't normally change routes like this. This is a first.

SO why? Why do this to ourselves? Why spend more weeks at sea than we have to?

Because we enjoy it.

Markl is going well.
We've simplified the game, which means that for now it won't feature runes. These runes were made to represent blocks of code visually, used to build your character's fighting style.
Why? Because the game doesn't need it. Right now our focus is on building something that is solid for release. We don't have a date yet, but will soon.
We've implemented, and animated the

You can be sure that if we find any breadfruit - or breadfruit derivative - that we'll make something new with it.
We found some breadfruit flour at a shop here in Fiji, and made these lovely strands with it. We know this is a specialty ingredient and that it's not easy to find, but if you ever travel to this part of the world, look for it.
We travel for food. Mostly. Food and inspiration. Traveling to some far away place to cook is a perfectly reasonable goal.
