Cybuster hosted a Magma drawing session recently along with fellow Visionary Patrons- Jay, NR_HP183, Kino, St. Bermuda, John, and Kiko! The theme of celebrating the UMA wrestlers. Look at this marketing GENIUS here haha. Gotta love the La Niña and Rosemary shirts, and that bucket hat! Maki horns and Stretch Octavia also excellent. Greed pasta striped noodles seems pretty wild too!

Also took this opportunity to draw Spider Mask / Stacey Stalker in Juri's kigurumi haha~

Edit: Added a drawing of Skipper! He is La Niña's biggest fan, but he only ever got to see one match because he keeps missing the rest for one reason or another.

Koujin ghosts Spider Mask and lands a solid Spinning Soul Kick !

FYI~

Koujin's material form outside of her house requires spiritual "anchors" primarily in the form of her stylized crimson hanya mask, but also her clothing, which is lined with scrolls that help seal and insulate her spirit. However, whenever she does her ghosting ability, she ends up burning through some of those seals in order for the exposed parts of her body to become incorporeal. Therefore, she loses parts of her outfit each time she uses the ability, making the ability technically more versatile (as more of her body is ghostable), but also runs her closer to losing her anchor to the material world, closer of dissipating with each use.

Ended up trying out a lil bit of kinda-animation (it's more like motion comic-y, really haha) but it's always fun to dabble in this kind of thing. It's been a little while since last time.

Gonna try to do more of the Koujin vs. Spider Mask pics before the month ends, plus some Bae Wulf and Rosemary ideas I want to try out! Now that the main part of this month is taken care of, we'll see how many extras I can do too :9

UMA Lineup ! Updated~

While I'm putting together Koujin's illustration, I figure I could also share this update I've done to the character lineup in general. I've been revisiting the image from before and realized that I hadn't updated a lot of it since last time, so I'm in the process of that now too. I figured it'd be a good time to share the 10 that are present in this month's poll!

Koujin has a lot of sketches and WIPs, and I figured this might be a good opportunity to organize and showcase them. It turned out compiling and curating all of that ended up way more ambitious of a task than I had initially estimated. Either way, I've assembled a collection here!

Not all of the images are in the Patreon post itself, but in the zip files- so check those out to see the full set.

However, I did post all of the WIPs I have- let me know which numbers interest you! I might try to do more sketches, but I have a bunch I wanted to take to completion too~ I have a few preferences in mind, but I like to factor in your input as well when making a decision. 

My plan this month is to post a bunch of UMA stuff- I may even factor in something involve all 3 characters, or at least more of them too.

Payment Issues with Patreon?

Hello!

A quick news update / check-up! I've heard that Patreon changed something about their payment processing system recently, and it's caused a lot of errors, such as declining of payment or false claims of fraud or otherwise?

Patrons: Make sure to check if all of your payments are going through, in general~

Creators: Check the "Audience" tab (used to be Patrons, I bet the change was made at the same time as the system change...) and click on the Payments Declined option to see if any recent errors pop up.

Ok, I got an email from Patreon about the situation, so I'll add an addendum to this message with their advice on possible ways to approach the problem

1. Contact the card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card
2. If the retry does not work, try a different payment method. Patrons can edit their payments in their Settings, under Billing History:

SDCC Catch-up Post (plus Bonus Anime Art !)

Thank you to those who were able to stop by the booth at SDCC and/or meet up in general! It's always a pleasure, and one of the reasons why conventions are so enjoyable. SDCC is definitely a tiring gauntlet though, and I'm catching up afterwards!

I wanted to make an SDCC post because it actually also hits a couple of the choices from this month's Anime poll along the way too!

Live Drawing

This year, I used our booth's access to electricity to run a couple ipad Live Drawing Sessions! During which, I figured it would be a good excuse to make a Naga the Serpent pic, since she did pretty well in this month's poll!

Also, drew Nia and Cooking Mama as per requests during the session

Promotional art

I had life size cardboard cutout standees at the booth this year- here is the art used for that!

Plus, a Pochita sticker variant, and a couple of Splatoon prints I made to match with a Deep Cut print I had done earlier.

SDCC Commissions:

I've also included the commissions I did during this convention, one of which happened to be Noi ! So I figured coloring that would also be a fun addition to this month's theme~

One of the most interesting and unusual commissions I got was to draw the 4th general from Indivisible. The unused concept of a hypothetical character, of which I guess the design was never publicly shown. I figured I could kinda mention a bit of it while on the topic, and shared some concepts from it. Dhar, being earth elemental, basically suggests the presences of wind, fire, and water elemental generals too. The water one's design was never publicly shown, but I figure I could include the others here, plus their notes. A lot of it, being an incomplete and ultimately dropped concept, is kinda janky and informal. It was kind of funny being asked to draw the character, as I had to just do it from memory on the spot.

Gifts!

Also! I got some fun gifts!!!!! Both from SDCC, and AX- and since I kinda ended up not having time to make a proper AX post, I figured I could at least share some of the gifts I got from both conventions~

SDCC:

I met up with long time patron and overall cool guy Dandy- we were able to hang out and draw- That was one of the few times I was able to leave the booth, so I am grateful for that. We did an art trade, and he drew Fallout and Dandy having a lively conversation, you could say~ 😊

I got this wonderful sketch of Crimson Mask Koujin and Air Heart from _ninjason_ !! I really love this drawing- Crimson Mask Koujin looks really really sexy here! She has good lips..! Anime Expo:

I got this wonderful sketch of Bae Wulf and really cute and cool Fleur Sauvage face drawings from Colo, when I was hanging out with him and co. after AX. It was a fun drawing party and wind-down after the craziness of the convention! It's my favorite kind of thing to do at the end of the show~ Looks like Bae Wulf got tangled up there! She can be such a screw-up sometimes oh no!! Love these Fleur drawings too, Colo's drawings of her last year was definitely influencial to her current design, so it's nice to see more sketches of her here!

This cool dragon sketch appeared in my sketchbook during the trading and shuffling of books during the party! I am not sure who drew it, though T^T But I appreciate it's appearance, and it's a pretty cool drawing with some great texture/detail to it, as well~!

Next update!

I also have some sketches of Mirko and plan to do some for Froppy for this month's choices- so expect to see that next. I think this month sort of turned into a fulfill several of the choices with smaller illustrations rather than a big one for the top (though I'll see how far I can get with that too) - It's just been difficult to spin a few plates at the same time because of SDCC, and the subsequent crunch of time right after.

Additional Anime Art!

A lot of the entrants in the poll I had drawn before in one form or another. I figure while I'm working on this month's illustration (and scrambling for SDCC) I could compile and share some of the work I've done. There are a bunch of repeats in here, but also a lot of new things. Some include commissions I did in the past year, of which I've been meaning to make more compilation posts of. So, I suppose this is something of a preview of that as well~

I apologize that I haven't been able to catch up with Discord at the moment, but I will see if I have the energy/time after I travel (though I tend to respond better on my desktop) anyway, more updates planned soon- and if anyone is going to SDCC- I will be in Small Press at Booth 1621! The poll results tallied up, the winner is the My Hero Academia team!

The outcome was interesting to see- I'm definitely going to do this poll again in the future, but more narrowed down to the less mainstream choices. Plus some fun leading ones here- Naga the Serpent did really well! Ohohoho~ I definitely want to throw in more retro and fun entries in here too.. some time later I'll revisit this theme!

Anyway! The winner will be fun- it'll be either of these 3, and while I can't promise it, I'll try to do something of all 3! Do you have a preference among these choices?
