Some Duke Sketches

My hand has felt like lead. Not literally, more like I've lost muscle-memory. Here are some Duke requests I've been doing just to get my hand working. I'm pretty happy with how the Castelvania girl and Charlotte came out. I am less happy with my job on Azula.

Good news everyone! I went to the dentist, got some anti-inflammation meds, and I'm feeling way better. Another excuse for late Duke sketches.

I may be incommunicado for a little while. I never got my wisdom teeth removed as a kid since they erupted rather painlessly and without causing too much displacement (so not s bad as the photo I'm using). I was told that I could leave them in, but that I should go for cleanings regularly enough to make sure gunk doesn't  get in there and cause an abscess. Something happened yesterday, and now I'm scheduling an emergency appointment for tomorrow.

For some reason I never really got into Halloween, I think because my friends and I just treated like any other weekend, but with costumes, but I guess we should do our first related poll. Bunnyx

I'm really sad to say tha tI'm dropping this one, and not because I don't like it or the idea, I actually REALLY like how Bunnyx looks . . . I just don't know how to color it. I made this following a tutorial, and when I got to the coloring stage, it just don't make a fucking lick of sense. Nothing I see looks right. It seems to random. 

I'd have to start over and do the line-art again on a separate layer. I could, but I'd rather just move on, now that I'm frustrated with this one....

I worked on this an the Ladybug comic at the same time. I'm having trouble with the Ladybug one. Just getting Alix's face right is tricky, but once I've got it, the coloring shouldn't take me too long. 

(These were initially Beastmen, but they become goblins in the sketch. The first beastman head I drew became the wolf). 

Inktober #1: Ring

I'm still working on Duke requests and a commission from last month, so I shouldn't be adding more onto my plate right now, buuuut, just for fun I'm doing the "Inktober" thing, wher you have to actually ink a sketch every day based on a prompt. Today's prompt was "ring." 

Wow! My 'skills' (or whatever this is) needs work. Maybe I'll be a bit better by the end of the month. 

Warhammer Sex-Fight Poll

So I actually kinda like the idea of trading off between Ladybug ideas and Warhammer ideas, since that seems to be where my visual interests are going. One towards the colorful and cartoony, the other towards the gothic and baroque. 

So, since I'm going to finish the Bunnyx-v-Timetagger comic soon, I'd like to get started on the Warhammer poll. It'll be a simple sex-fight thing between the two chosen factions. It may be cute, or edgy. I'm not sure, I'll wait to see what my mood is,...

WIP: Bunnyx

I only wanted to rend out a bit, just to figure out what I want Bunnyx to look like (I'm changing all the costumes a bit). I am pretty happy with how it is looking so far. 

Duke Sketches (Large)

I actually don't know if 'sketch' is a good word for these. Maybe 'vignettes.' It's really fun making these easy little images. I've been trying to go 'extra' recently to test myself, which means incorporating scenery. That is my greatest weakness still. That, and actual artist concepts like vanishing-points and such. Maybe I'll pull back a bit with the Bunnix comic, just to see if simpler is better. 

Borderlands: Upgrades

This one is VERY late, even later than the WIPS I started over. I'm glad I took my time with it though. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Obviously, as I'm looking at it, I'm seeing a million little things I'd touch up, but that could go on forever, so it's best to just pick an end point.

I'd like to do another Ladybug thing before attempting Avalor/Berk again, although I think the 'meh' painting I did satisfied the poll at least. I'm in the mood to do more Warhammer or Ladybug stuff, and since the last thing was Warhammer, this time it's ladybug. Ladybug: Feast

I'm sorry that the bigger Ladybug story is just .  .  . Too big. But this duke request was a good opportunity for me to reconnect with the character. I think I'm just going to stick to one-shots like this that parody all of the very OBVIOUS fetish-bait in the show. There is SO much fetish-bait. It's like a BDSM show . . . For kids. 

Bi-Beauty and Bi-Beast

I've never considered Merch before now, mostly because I'm the sort of person who NEVER buys that stuff. I have magic cards because I play magic. I have comics because I read comics. I don't have any other 'stuff.' If I got in on this sticker game though, would anyone buy them? It's not trouble for me, I think, since it looks like most companies can do print-on-demand, meaning I don't have to go into the hole, they just take whatever percentage that they take.

Take a Look, It's in a Book . . . JOJO!

So I dumped a LOT of the WIPs i was working on last month, just because I was playing around with different tutorials, but I also think I was just doing really sub-par work at the time. I'm glad that I did, I think this new one looks better. A simple sexy pinnup. Nothing groundbreaking. I could obviously keep going back and keep working on it, but I should move along.

Fantasy Wars?

The Gotrek and Felix thing is SUPER awkward, because it happened right at a big transition moment for me, where I'm now doing everything in a more "painterly" (it sounds pretentious) way, so . . . WIP, Warhammer: Heresy!

Sorry if things seem slow. They are. I've been very unhappy with the speed and quality of my WIPs recently, but I'm happy with the way things are going now.
