Hi Everyone!
We are well into week 3 now so here are the unfiltered hipfiles from week 2. Some of them are more of a mess than others but hopefully you find it useful :)
Think some of them where a bit off brief for the week, probably should have kept the slime mould for week 3.
Enjoy!

Hi Everyone! This is an announcement and file share rolled into one. If you missed it on the discord I am giving the Houdini houly challenge a go. That's on top of the day job so it's keeping me very busy.
I don't think I will have much time for making tutorials this month, so to compensate for that I will share all my hip files from the daily challenges with you all including the Drop tier patrons.
Attached are the hip files from week one. Big disclaimer I am working fast a...

Hi Everyone,
I the final section I wrap things up by going through my lighting setup a little shading and little animation and VEX camera space constraint .I show you how I dealt with setting up lighting for a camera that rotates 360.
Enjoy

Hey everyone!
This one if for everyone who isn't on the discord server. It's a sample setup to show how you can create a geometry erosion effect interacting with FLIP.
There are other ways to do this sort of thing but the benefit of this is that if the other object has uv's it will stay intact.
Enjoy!

Hi everyone,
In part 3 we use VDB nodes to mesh our fluid and combine the animated dancer and platform to create one single geometry to render.

Hi Everyone!
Part 2 of this tutorial covers converting our particle trail emitter from part on into a a emission source for FLIP and setting up the FLIP simulation.

Hi everyone!
Part 1 of this tutorial covers setting up the emission control for the simulation. The part can apply to all sorts of simulations not just FLIP.
Enjoy!

Hi everyone!
Here is a little promo clip for my latest tutorial.
The tutorial covers setting up a controlled emission, getting it working with FLIP, and meshing the simulation. With a bonus lighting setup for tier wave patrons and up.
I'll post part one after this and part will arrive this weekend.
Enjoy!

Hi everyone, in this tutorial I demonstrate how to use the Retime node to time ramp a FLIP simulation in a smooth fashion with no jitter or stepping in Houdini 18.

Hi everyone!
Here is a new video tutorial. Not that long since my last one but I am trying to make up for being a bit quiet the last few months.
In this tutorial I demonstrate how you can create coiling viscous liquid effects using the FLIP solver in Houdini.
Enjoy!

Hi everyone!
Here is my latest tutorial, it's surface tension again but this time a am trying something different and just explaining what it is and how it works in Houdini.
I will still keep one making my regular more specific tutorials as well and if I get good feedback on this I will create more of these in between.
Enjoy!

Hi Everyone!
I created a Discord server called Zybs FX Chat! (more create name suggestions welcome)
I created it so that its easier for patrons to communicate with me. The Patreon page isn't always great for that. Its patron only and open to all tiers.
I don't think existing patrons get an email invite you just need to create a discord account or login and you will be added to the server automatically.
From support: "We’ll handle the rest from h...

Hi All,
In this tutorial I demonstrate a setup for creating plant simulations using the Finite Element solver but setting the plant up as a solid object. The good thing about this setup is that it works with minimal input requirements from the input geometry.

I hope you find it useful.

Hi All, happy new year!
I know I have been a little quiet over the festive period but I have lots of big plans for more tutorials this year.
In total last year I recorded 18 video which I think is not bad for my first year doing it.
I am currently working out a plan of action for the this years. Larger scan simulations will be on the list as well. I know its something I promised but haven't quite delivered yet. More Vellum for sure and I want to play with sparse ...

Hey all,
As promised here is the tutorial showing how I made the Thank Your patron video clip.
It's a combination of pyro simulation and VDB manipulation to mesh the simulations as geometry.
Hipfiles will follow later today.

Here are the hip files. I am doing this one differently because I don't think I do enough for my higher tier patrons so this hip file has the basic setup. Everything up to the bonus stuff I show after the high res sim.
IT will not apply all the time but I will do it every now and then and all the info is in the tutorial anyway :)

Hi All, since making the Melting Textured Objects tutorial following it up with a tutorial about texturing a simulated mesh seemed unavoidable.
In this tutorial I demonstrate a method for texturing the simulated mesh using a rest position attribute and transferring maps to points.

Hi All,
In this tutorial I demonstrate a simple trick of using flip as a deformer rather that meshing the simulation in order to preserve textures on objects.
It is useful is specific cases where the fluid effect is very viscous and hold on single shape through out the sim.
Hip files included because this one is free and will be public on 09/12/2019.

Here is part 3 of the beer tutorial. In this section I go of the setup for applying the foam setup to the beer glass shot.
Disclaimer - The setup still as some bugs that need ironing out but I still think its worth a look.
