I want the final product to look like a scene from a legitimate animation. Hand Jumper, the Anime... ha!
Hair has been the hardest part, since there's so many ways to do it! Third and fourth gifs are the two hair animations I've been the happiest with. We'll see where the final animation takes us.

A little progress on this thing. Still needs a lot of fixing.
In case you don't remember-- Pink's Gift allows her to transform her appearance. I like Gifts that aren't directly offensive in nature, so I have a lot of affinity for Pink's. Even the members of Pink's gang (excluding Samin) aren't 100% sure what her true appearance is, since she usually has a facial feature or two tweaked to suit her preferences at the moment.
Unsurprisingly, Pink was a theater kid growing up.

I've been busier than usual with part 1 of a school thesis project, as well as some personal life ongoings. Progress on Hand Jumper Season 2 has been slower, but steady. There are rumors floating around that Hand Jumper will not return until 2025- this is not true; as I've discussed on Instagram, HJ is scheduled to come back this year.

Before I decided on creating Hand Jumper, I had two other ideas for series-- one called Goetia, about demonology, and another called Pharmakos. Pharmakos is far too ambitious for me to consider developing on a wider scale (think The Chronicles of Narnia crossed with The Witcher), but I enjoy revisiting the concept nonetheless.
These are some older sketches I did of heroine Rhione Vrittanen and her frenemy Kassandra Salo.

A friend showed me a song called Say Yes to Heaven by Lana Del Ray. I think it's intended to be a romantic song, but the lyrics have a slightly ominous ring to me. Say yes to Heaven... say yes to me. I've got my eye on you. I've got my eye on you.
In any case, Samin's got her eye on you.
Practically all of the shading at the end image was done with one Multiply layer. Layer functions can be so incredibly useful!
I hope you remember these two, because they'll be back in Season 2!

Season 2 will feature an arc (that I have been waiting, SO LONG to draw) where Cell 4 will be dressed in plainclothes for a mission. Don't want to give away everything, so I've only attached Sayeon and Min's outfit brainstorming here.

Everyone in Hand Jumper has a fairly elaborate backstory. I would be a really bad author to go into every single one of them, so most will only be glanced at. Ahn and Sang's histories, however, will be looked into a little more thoroughly.
Min (a.k.a. White) was actually conceptualized as a member of Samin's gang before he was conceptualized as a member of Cell 4.

One disadvantage to working on a webtoon: you get very used to working in a single art style.
There's nothing wrong with that if you've tried a lot of things and now understand exactly what you want your series to look like. Me, however... I didn't try a lot of things-- in fact, I hardly did any style explorations at all. Drawing in an anime art style was a huge struggle, which you can probably see in the early chapters!
I've been playing around with different styles now....

Iseul Kim, one of the few characters to wholeheartedly embrace their new job in the Corps. He's a good guy.
Sayeon's development took up the bulk of S1, but S2 will be bringing a lot of focus to the other members of Cell 4. Iseul is one of my favorites-- can't wait for you guys to see what's in store for him!
