sorry about the lack of updates lately, and thank you all for sticking around!
I've had a hard time getting anywhere with my projects, which is a bummer, but I'll keep working on Sailor Moon at least! and I'll upload more sketchbook drawings.

I haven't forgotten about Patreon. there will be more! I'm just not doing great creatively right now... If it seems like a longer slump, I'll pause payments for next month

Sailor Moon (ep. 19)

"Tuxedo mask's love letter" I loved this episode. If it's got Naru and Nephrite in it, I'm gonna be into it (I don't ship them! I just really like their story). But the scenes with Sailor Moon and Tuxedo mask and the elevator are also super cute and exciting. 

I messed up the inking on a lot of the sketches, but I'll deal with that later.

these aren't great sketches and I have no idea if it's interesting, but I'm trying to write/brainstorm/do layout and that's harder to share. (especially since I'm kinda stuck at the moment...)
I'm really looking forward to sharing real pages! eventually!

I really should have drawn that doll monster more because I remember really enjoying it! I'll deal with that later. Gotta move forward

today is a Sailor Moon day and I already took pictures, but I have to edit them a bit and find some old pics of the pencil sketches to make the post, and I'm sooooo tired right now! (I only slept three hours tonight for some reason?) I'll post SM tomorrow!!

I inked some old sketches and tried to brainstorm but I've been slow today and didn't really get anywhere.

NF - chapter 3 (pt.1)

Tommen and Hegarth have settled into their life in Third Wheel - searching for food, moving from place to place, and decorating their cab. Life isn't comfy but they're doing okay, until one day... 

I'm starting to catch up to where I am in the sketchbook... that's scary

super quick Starvale update because I don't really have anything new to show yet. I managed to layout a few pages for the prologue comic today, but it's not very sharable and not even properly "new" since I've kinda shown a version of this scene already. I look forward to having actual pages to share!

I think these messy outfit sketches are the only personal drawings I've made in weeks...

I watched clips of The Nanny recently, remembered how much I love her fashion, and just had to try some fun short-shorts and stockings outfits. I got a really cool second hand purple suede jacket that I'm excited to wear once it's warm enough, so I incorporated that too.

I'm currently still bundled up like a wool burrito

I thought I'd be done with work by March, so I didn't schedule any posts last week, and only managed to post Sailor Moon pages, but I'll try to do better this week!

I was excited to get started on comic pages for Starvale, but that might be too big of a thing right now. I'll be sure to share something, though. sketches if nothing else.

Sailor Moon (ep. 15-16)

Episode 15 and 16. I remember laughing so much as a kid when Mamoru stepped on Rei's head, I'm not sure why I didn't draw that! I should add it to the final zine. The wedding dress episode is cute. Ando draws the cutest hands. I also really like the sheer sparkly fabric that Nephrite curses in this episode, but it's tricky to capture that effect in this style of sketches, so I didn't try.

NF - chapter 2 (pt.2)

With their search for another gate unsuccessful thus far, the boys find themselves a home, and Tommen announces that he wants to stay with Hegarth rather than trying to find his way back to first wheel.

that's the end of chapter one! cliffhanger style. - though I'm not sure if you guys can follow my messy thumbnails so you might not actually know what's been going on in these pages, lol.

Next up is sketching all these pages! I'm excited to clean all of this up and make it look nice with colours and everything :)

NF - chapter 2 (pt.1)

The boys wander Third Wheel in search for a gate (or food), and stumble across an old laboratory in the baselevel.

These pages are mostly about a very silly test comic I did a long while ago, with funny "sci-fi" horror. I think the idea is that the colonies are actually vegan, and eating meat is rare and weird. (then why has Tommen tasted it? maybe you'll find out!) The laboratory was actually for synthesising body parts for medical purposes? haha, idk. it's gross and silly! bu...

Sailor Moon (ep. 14)

This is definitely another favourite episode from my childhood. It's the first one with Nephrite! It was also about tennis, and as I was playing badminton back then I appreciated it for that reason (there were no tennis clubs where I grew up or I would have probably tried to play that too?). Also - I had it as a comic! Not the proper manga, but a weird westernized comic based off the anime. I only ever found those Sailor Moon comics twice in my life.

My plan here is to do all thumbnails for a chapter before doing the proper sketches. and then sketch all pages of a chapter before doing cleanups. But then I might loosen up with cleanups and colour, doing a couple pages at a time maybe? 

anyway, lots of steps to cover! It would be cool if I could start to post this publicly around the time of the new Zelda game :) (I might have to work faster for that to be possible)

NF - chapter 1 (pt.2)

Tommen drag Hegarth away from the gate to search for another way back to First Wheel. "There has to be other gates!" They help eachother stay alive and start to form a brotherly bond.  

I might have posted all of these drawings elsewhere already, sorry if that's the case! But I'm going through the whole sketchbook now - trying to upload it chronologically, so this will happen sometimes. There's gonna be lots new stuff! I'll catch up to myself soon enough.  

Sailor Moon (ep. 11-13)

Nightmare in Dreamland was one of my favourite episodes as a kid just because I loved how everyone looked in it! So chunky. And the fashion was cute too! And the princess monster was really cool in a specific way. I still love Masahiro Ando's style a lot.

I'd love to hear what your favourite episodes from season one are, especially if they're episodes I haven't drawn yet :)

I recently got a short design gig, which is really fun and I'm very happy about it - but it means I won't have time to work as much on my projects for a couple of weeks. NF - chapter 1

"North End"

Starving and dying, Hegarth dreams of the past outside a gate between 3rd and 2nd wheel, as Tommen is thrown out of the gate, claming to originate from 1st wheel. The boys meet for the first time.
