Still in the mood for wiggly lines. I've been spending the remaining days in California saying goodbye to the San Francisco fog. There's just something so magical about the fog rolling in like waves over the city lights.

It's been so stressful preparing the move from California to Sweden. Most days I only want to let my mind go blank and draw calming nature. But I'm very excited to explore Europe! I love the architecture in Stockholm and hope to incorporate some of that in my future artworks :)

Happy Pride month!
I spent a long time thinking about what to paint for this year until I saw a photo of flagstones covered in chalk art of various rainbows. It made me realize that the path to equality and a better tomorrow is paved slowly, step by step, and with love.

Continuing the cage dress series, now featuring snek!
I always start with a 3D model of the cage in Sketchup before drawing in the rest.
The more I thought about the theme, the more I wanted to explore ideas of the animals escaping from the cages. For the next one in the series, I want to have the woman opening the cage door for the wolf the escape ;)

It feels so good to finish a proper drawing at last. Life has been crazy hectic with plans to move from California to Sweden. I'm excited for Europe but also sad to leave the US that has been my home for decades. It's been an emotional rollercoaster everyday as I fill out paperwork for my immigration and look for a new house and everything else involved in uplifting my whole life. Part 2 of my cage dress series~
I've been super busy flying to DC for an immigration interview and haven't had much time to draw. But I'm to announce that I passed the test and will be moving to Sweden in the near future! It's sad to say goodbye to California but I'm also excited for the new adventures in Europe :)
Now that the interview is out of the way, I can get back to more drawings again too. Hope to share the finished piece soon!
Been kinda stressed lately about an upcoming flight and interview, so I haven't been able to concentrate enough to draw anything complicated ;_; Hopefully I'll be able to draw without worry soon.

I just got back from a short vacation with my SO's family. We roadtripped along the California coast and saw so many harbor seals. They're especially funny when they poke their head out of the water. Sailors used to believe the seals were mermaids and I can't help but draw it out hahaha

Finally finished this one! The majority of the time spent was on the individual flowers for each feather/page of the wings. I really love the look of old botanical books with the water color paintings and the scientific names written in cursive. So I spent way too many hours painting out 20 of these flower pages, and even then, it wasn't enough for the wings so I did have to duplicate some.

I had idea for my Wings of Pages series, where instead of text, it's a book full of botanical illustrations. It's going to be a lot fun (and hand pain haha) to illustrate each flower, but as plant lover, I am looking forward to it.
In other news, the 3D model stage for the next chapter of my Fisheye Placebo comic is finally complete, so I've been able to work on the new chapter panels bit by bit. It's a long and complicated chapter so it will still take some time to finish, but I hope...

Finally finished!
It's been a lot of fun working on these more detailed paintings. They might take a lot longer to finish each one, but the result feels so worth it. I've been doing a lot of strength training and physical therapy for my hand injury so hopefully I can keep creating more at this level. I have so many ideas on what I want to draw, I can hardly decided which to tackle next!

This one truly took so long to paint ;_; I've always loved paintings with lots of tiny hidden details but couldn't work on those very often because of my hand injury. But I decided to really indulge this time (which is why I haven't been able to post new art in the past 2 weeks). Most of my paintings take 1-3 recording sessions but this one took 10 ahahaha

I just got back from hiking in the snow with my huskies and I feel endlessly inspired by the beauty of the snowy landscapes. The snow creates such an ethereal world, I wish I could have stayed longer.

My original plan was to pain a planetarium dress with the Solar System as the main focus, but I got carried away with making the dress go woooosh that the composition no longer works for a Solar System lol. I'm still happy with how this one turned out, and I still get to paint the actual planetarium dress later ahahaha
