An interesting find. About 8 years ago, I created my own maps for hl2, and then hl2ep2. I did not port anything, I came up with some kind of my own huge bunker, I remember there were many rooms, a dining room, bedrooms, a bar ... all this is unfortunately lost. As usual, I post a few screenshots of the future release. I really miss lightmaps on models and cascading shadows, without this all the columns and arches are evenly lit and it doesn't look pretty.

Hi. Here are some screenshots of the progress. I have already regretted a hundred times that I decided to port all the lods, each model has to be practically created 5 times. But lodes will be useful if I still create a map of a fitness center or gym, these models have a fairly large number of polygons (ue4) and optimization may suffer.

The other day I saw a very beautiful location and could not resist starting to port it. But unfortunately the outdated engine could not illuminate correctly even such small models. Here are the comparisons between csgo and gmod. You will have to build walls and floor from brush geometry (i.e. map). In graphic terms, this is worse (you cannot use phong), but the lighting will be correct.

In general, this is a strange project. I've been going to make this map for the whole summer. Quite small but interesting. I made two versions day and night. At night, I added the illumination of the pool itself and other objects. I also added something like a motel room with switched off lights. Yes, yes, the light turns off. As it turned out, night maps turned out to be more difficult to do, a thin line between light and darkness. Simply putting the sun in a bright spot is much easier. Here is one of the final versions of the night version.
I do not know what to call the map, this is not a direct port from gta v, I partially made it my own way.
It remains to make versions for SFM. Expect in the next couple of days.

Let this post be like the answer to all requests to make the lights on the map switched off. Unfortunately, the Source Engine is totally outdated and it is very bad at it. Here is an example of what artifacts appear just on a small map, I fought with a bunch of similar incomprehensible black squares on the apartment map back in 2015 (map in the workshop). For this reason, I never want to mess with it again.

Hi everyone. Here is a small but cute and detailed map from gta v. This is floyd's apartment. The same temporary apartment that Trevor lived in while he was looking for Michael.
For sfm users: there is a small mirror in the bathroom, if you want to turn it off, type ent_fire bathroom_mirror toggle in the console. For those who still do not know, the mirror is not friendly with the AO. Disable it if you want to avoid artifacts.

In general, nothing worked for me with the creation of a 360 screenshot or a fully 3D skybox. I decided to leave the usual blue skybox, but made a separate small room where sky_camera is located, it will increase everything that you place there exactly 16 times. To understand where the building itself is located, I made a hint, this will mitigate the problem.

1. They built a giant underground (?) Parking lot measuring 11K x 16K, that's 1/4 of the engine's available grid. (see screenshot). I did not see anything useful and interesting there, it is a corny huge dirty room with supports and there is nothing else there.

Hell, shadow maps on models and cascading shadows work wonders. Here are some comparison screenshots. Unfortunately, I have to work under Gmod and SFM (by the way, sfm has even less possibilities).
