We only got a small glimpse of him in chapter 2 but he will get a proper introduction in chapter 3.

Took a bit longer this time to finish the newest page since it contained some important details. The most challenging effect was the depiction of the flooded floor. I decided to give the floor a distinct design so the reader is able distinguish between all the different locations on the SeaLion later.

Yae Noel [Work in Progress]

Yae Noel is a Mozunesian paramedic hired as ship's doctor on the SeaLion who will appear on the first pages of my third chapter. Her hairstyle resembles a fir. You can spot her already on two panels at the prologue chapter. She will be more present in the following chapters but I do not want to give too much about her role away for now.

I'm curious how the next pages will turn out. This scene will provide some more context and meaning to the earlier scenes but also serve as an introduction of Taya's analytic skills. I always love mindgame moments and that is the first time we hopefully see one here in my manga.

Phew, done! It took a bit time since I'm currently facing a huge workload of commissions. Nonetheless it was fun to draw this page. Despite the naked flesh there is a lot of world-building implemented here. In fact, I think it's the first time where readers get a full explanation how an Ultima used to work.

World of Quandrum: Evolution of the Map

It's really unfortunate that I can't find my old childhood drawing of the very first version of this map anymore although I clearly remember that I have stored it somewhere in my old archives. Finally some dialogues again. I actually enjoyed to daw this page a lot since I can show some interaction between my two love birds again. The new brush helps me to save a lot of time, but I still spent way too much time with the details although I love how well every panel turned out here.

In the posts of the higher Patreon tiers I plan to give some insight regarding my manga drawing workflow a but more in the next days.

[Preview] Concept Sheet - Batou & Cpt. Manati

Batou and Captain Manati will get a proper introdcution in chapter 3. They seem to know something about the secret of the Erlmaiden. Manati's crossbow resembles an anchor. Her Ultima is called Harpoon Block and can fire an ice arrow linked with an endless ice chain which she can remote-control at will. The name of the Ultima is also the same of an existing anti-ship missile.

I was looking forward to this dialogue scene for a quite long time. On the next pages we got some insight of Leroy's impression and deduction of the other two protagonists. There is also a short flashback where he got an advice by Chaudine. What did she told him? Well, we'll see.

[High Res] Chapter 2, p. 21 End of the Chase

The protagonists have reached the lift and are able to escape now. I got admittedly impatient with the whole scene since I enjoy to draw dialogue scenes more. I still put my heart into the whole creation of the last page of the chase and I'm really satisfied how this scene turned out. I tested some new self-made brushes before and eventually find a very good one to tone the shades for different surfaces. Hope you also like it!

Shariya Beaufort - Character Profile Sheet

I want to redraw all of my old character fullbody artworks since I don't like the stiff poses of most of them. Also while drawing my manga I often forgot certain details of the clothing. It occurs more than once which drives me crazy. So yeah, that's why I decided to redesign my characters for the next arc so drawing them will bcome simpler.

One page left until they are entering the lift. To be honest, if I had more patience I would use a bit more pages with wider panels to show the length of the thorns just to demonstrate how the aiming and range of distance of Winrow's ultima is working. I want to wrap up the monster back-up scene quickly so for now I leave it like that.

Winrow's Mother [Profile Preview]

I can't say for sure if reader will be able to understand this but I hope that this page offers a good explanation for the suprise attack of the kappa warrior earlier that also jumped down from the upper floor.

The other crucial information is the visualization of Winrow's ultima which is also a hint for his obolus he has to fulfill.

You wouldn't believe how glad I am to finally draw Taya again. :D I'm satisfied how the impact and the kick pose turned out. Still try to get better with the dynamic action scenes of my manga, because there is still much room for improvement though. Hopefully my next page won't take too long this time.

Whew, that page took a bit longer than expected. Tried some new brushes to achieve a more grid-like manga'esque look and I'm satisfied how it turned out. another Kappa Warrior appeared! This time it has a turtle shell using as a shield which is similar to the design on my old color draft months ago. This will be the last fighting scene with monsters within this arc. That's the 99th manga page by the way. :D
