Work morale

We visited his parents' place to drag some logs - some trees from their yard had to be taken down because of a parasite, so the sickness doesn't spread.

Paperwork

We bought a van about a month ago! Everything to do with it is new.

This time of spring

You can almost literally see how I ran out of energy and inspiration as soon as I hit the last two panels, but I really wanted to draw this and a strictly wholesome fox comic wouldn't have done the brutality of tiny birds justice. Those things really are brawling each other out there these days.

Bedtime

Have you ever met someone who can just fall asleep in like 30 seconds? How do they do that?

View Post

Playing games

We have had this conversation several times about one game in particular.

Online markets

We're working hard to declutter right now, and flea markets, online markets and donation centres are a saviour!

Pointless facts

I am full of completely useless knowledge, some of it definitely inaccurate, and I gather more every day.

Fast walkers

When a fast walker and a slow walker start living together, one will inevitably have to adjust to a new walking speed. And the etiquette that comes with it.

Movie analysis

(any similarities to any kids' movies my sister may have sat me down to watch with her are purely coincidental.)

Schedules

Ironically, I accidentally posted this to my tumblr instead of adding it to the queue like I meant to. We are all victims of our poor planning skills.

Luxuries

Sorry the text is a bit cramped and hard to follow on this one! It's based 100% on an actual conversation we've had, and I didn't want to leave anything out even though I know I bit off more than I could chew with it.

Also my car is a dingy 2001 Nissan Almera that nobody else is comfortable with driving.

Abandoned, long gone

Not sure why I painted this, wanted to paint it anyhow. I wanted to paint something overgrown, forgotten, deserted. Taken over by nature.

Takeout

We order fast food wayyyy too often, but there's something about sitting on the bed together, eating burgers and watching the stupidest thing youtube has to offer.

Flawless tactics

We may or may not havw had this conversation word-for-word.

Right there

Life isn't about having everything you've ever wanted in your life, but about appreciating whatever are the things you have.

I've wanted this comic to be a happy place, a little spot in the world where nothing bad ever happens. I'm going to keep it that way.

Pause in posting

My grandfather died at the age of 88, after 60 years of a loving marriage, four children and seven grandchildren, calm and satisfied with the life he got to have.

Life returns to the regular on monday.

Soothing crafts

I'm actually in the process of weaving my third scrap rug - they're all made of old, broken bedsheets and clothes that couldn't be repaired. They're ugly and largely a tripping hazard more than anything, but it's an extremely cheap hobby and better than having the fabric rot in a landfill!

Trash

In retrospect, the trash pile does look just like a scrunched up camo blanket, but this is still a conversation we've literally had.

Hobbies

This also covers video game mechanics, occasionally stats of real guns.

ADHD

This has been my experience with being medicated. Won't get distracted with chasing scraps of reward chemicals from all over the place if I have my own!

Also it's my birthday! I'm now 28.

Ancestors

Fun fact: both my mom and my boyfriend's mother read the fox comics, so I can't make a comic about anything neither of them should know about.

That's also why I can't make a comic about the fact that I re-gift most of the gifts they give to me to each other. Middle-aged moms like things middle-aged moms like to buy.

Weird

We never plan anything special for valentine's days - every day is special enough as it is.

Abduction

The original intended punch line for this one was Blue saying "I don't negotiate with terrorists with no plan", but I couldn't get it to fit.

Comic progress!

I'm now a bit over halfway through with A Friend of Caesar! I'm starting to get the hang of how to use refrence pictures efficiently, and I'm really proud of these panels here, so I was encouraged to share them here, too.

The Bonk

Who doesn't become a master swordman when armed with a wrapping paper tube?

Daydream in neon

I recently got some watercolour pencils and wanted to try them out! Since I don't have a scanner, I could only take a phone picture of the finished picture and edit it to be as clear as possible digitally. That ended up messier than originally intended, but altogether I'm happy enough about the results to share it!

Portions

American measures are a extremely confusing to handle, especially when paired with my boyfriend's need to get all recipies corrext by the gram. If porridge for four people is 25 grams of rye, he will calculate it's 6,25 for just one portion. Not 6 or 7, or even six and a half.

Top-down

In my defense, I do carve it from top down, it's just easiest to make it dip in the middle.

Tired

At this point, whenever he's tired, he has started to reassure me he's not mad at me.

I'm too used to being around people who feel the urge to make sure you're having a bad day too whenever they're having one.

Late from work

The drive home can vary wildly due to traffic and the weather - even with winter tyres and with an experienced driver, driving in snow and ice can be dangerous!

In my defense I haven't completely freaked out in weeks.
