I met my gang of friends when I was 15. It has expanded over the years, and everyone has more or less spread to different cities for work and study as we grew up, usually gathering up for conventions (most of the group watches anime, and we book a room together for the events) and the big celebrations of the year, like midsummer (the "nightless night", a traditional finnish celebration), halloween (which isn't traditionally celebrated in Finland, but my friends are a bunch of goth nerds who w...

The Everyday

We do household chores together. We don't really have mutual hobbies, neither of us is particularly interested in the stuff the other one is, but changing the sheets and washing floors together is efficient - chores take half the time, they get done, and we're spending time together.

Things going right

Having good things going on is nerve-wrecking. I've tried to ask my therapist how to handle it, but she has only suggested that instead of panicking, I should consider not panicking.

The Manual

I have a terrible memory, and I've seriously thought of writing a list of all the things my partner can and can't do, eat, watch, etc because he doesn't want to "limit me" by telling about it beforehand, or reminding me about them before I make a choice, so it'd be more convenient to just check the manual every time.

Snowstorm

Snowed pretty heavily here a few days ago! I usually have a queue of comics but this one I'm posting now, now that it's still seasonal.

Helping

The worst part about headaches like that is that there's nothing really that one could do to make them go away, but wait.

Food Order

While most of my comics are either word-for-word recreations of a real incident, or slightly amplified for cartoonish effect, this one's actually milder than the actual incident:

1. My boyfriend had made the food order on his phone before leaving work, sending me the code.
2. I went to sit in the restaurant, waiting to be called out.
3. In the 40 minutes that it took him to get there too, they hadn't finished the order.

Cereal

I am extremely bad at buying foods for other people. Even when it's identical to the last one, it manages to be wrong.

Morning schedule

I like slow mornings, with no hurry anywhere. Setting an alarm early just to have the luxury of doing everything in extreme slow motion is better than an hour of extra sleep.

Plant rotation

We have some plants on the windowsill now, every day they tilt towards the window as they grow, so I turn them around every morning to make them grow more even.

And every single time I'm sure I can feel them seethe in rage.

Prompted

Whenever one of us complains about needing to do something, but not managing to do it, the other usually asks "should I tease/bully you into doing it?", and it usually works.

Meme machine

He somehow does have a meme or videoclip for any situation.

Christmas soda

They make exactly one batch of my boyfriend's favourite soda for the stores each year - it expires in march, all at the same day, we checked.

Also, the chocolate-covered rye chips were also a real thing.

Comic progress!

Working on A Friend of Caesar, my larger graphic novel project! I managed to draw two panels I was very proud of on the same page, so I couldn't resist sharing! The first album is 35 pages altogether, and I'm drawing the pages in a reverse order to resist the urge to just post them all online as I finish them. I'm currently almost finished with page 24, so 1/3rd through the album!

Family Christmas

No part of this comic was even exaggerated - they actually did not only get me a bicycle (so we can ride together), but they really did fashion a huge bow out of red wrapping paper.

He also falls asleep so fast it's eerie.

Shampoo

Actually, we currently have one shampoo, one big bottle of one of those 3-in-one wash-your-whole-man -wash thingies, and one bottle of conditioner.

He uses the shampoo for his hair because the wash is bad for hair, and the shower gel for the rest. I wash my hair with the gel too, but use the conditioner to make up for the way it makes hair feel.

The Pinecone

It turned out that the right thing to do was to put the pinecone in the oven on low heat for 3 hours!

Seeds came out, and I should have been smarter with cooking them, they burnt :/

Happy reunion

The biggest helmet you have

My boyfriend's head circumfence is 62 cm. That's almost 25 inches. That's the circumfence of a very small person's waist.

As a player of airsoft and a fan of hugh quality outdoors/military surplus clothing, he is on a constant hunt for headgear of the largest possible measurements, because no manufacturer makes a size too big for him. The biggest possible one might be large enough to fit.

Noise-cancelling headphones

He actually forgot his Really Nice Headphones on the workplace yesterday - here's to hoping they're still there on monday.

Vestal virgin - reference study
