I think we all had our own ideas of what Crowley looked like as an angel, but I was way off and I'm delighted. He's so full of joy and wonder, guileless and honest as an apple. It kind of breaks my heart, and part of me can understand why Aziraphale would want to give that back to him... but it's a small part. Because the thing is, Crowley hasn't really changed too much.

I recently got to look through James Jean's art book Pareidolia and I was so inspired I knew the next thing I wanted to do was something like this. I have always loved those sort of floating figure images and amorphous shapes. It is really time-consuming, though! I'm not used to drawing freeform shapes and I think too much about making it "make sense". This was a fun process of letting go of that and letting the shapes go where they wanted.

WIP: slow dance

I've been in the mood to do something soft and romantic, and I had never done anything for the Blitz era before. I love the idea of them feeling so full of affection and exhaustion after everything that day, having a wordless dance, just enjoying the closeness until the record plays out.

Fun fact: one of the most popular songs from WWII was "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square".

Detective Aziraphale & Disaster Pup!

An ode to Tintin and Snowy, my second favorite detective dog (first is Asta Charles), and Neil Gaiman referring to Crowley as a "disaster puppy". I'm hung up on making him an Ibizan hound, which make really goofy puppies. I don't draw animals very often, but when I do I really like it!

My very dear friends Caspian and AFC each suggested I draw versions of tarot cards that were special to each of them. I don’t know anything about tarot, but I loved reading about the significance of them, and I feel like these are really representative of Crowley and Aziraphale.

I tried to keep the important elements of the classic cards: seven small stars, five trickles of water on the land, one foot in the water; a crown of flowers and inifinity symbol, and that wonderful, particula...

Mimosas (July menu)

This is the month!! The new season is only a few weeks away, are you excited? I'm going to make furikake Chex mix and settle in. But in the meantime...

Kiss

The folks who clocked that this kiss was inspired by North & South have great taste in romantic miniseries and were absolutely right. I can't promise I'll draw many more kisses, but I think this one turned out very sweet. This is a combination of watercolors and colored pencil.

I used the random generator to choose a Lucky Cat/Nazar to take the original home, and this one goes to Quefish! A sweet smooch for an incredibly sweet person. ❤️

Kiss WIP!

I realized earlier this month that in the history of my GO art, I've drawn two kisses, and both were silly. Seeing so much beautiful smooching art lately made me bite the bullet and do a proper kiss. This one is inspired by one of my favorite screen kisses, and a special prize to the first person who guesses the reference! This will be this month's paper art, and the original will go to a randomly chosen Lucky Cat or Nazar.

Strawberry heist

This was clearly Crowley's idea, but only because Aziraphale really wanted the strawberry. (Vertical & horizontal versions for whatever's easiest viewing for yez.)

Inspired by Mr. A.Z. Fell on Twitter and our dear Miel, who asked if the bowtie was like a breakaway collar for cats. And my sister's wise words that if something makes you laugh, no matter how stupid, it's worth drawing.

Rooftop shaker charm

This is the final mockup for the shaker charms! I’ve ordered them, and I’m pretty darn excited. The charms won’t have my signature, of course. They’ll be 3 inches long with an epoxy top and silver carabiner ring. As soon as they come in, I’ll let you all know first!
