We decided to revamp Stardust again. If you don't know, Stardust is the currency in Rad and will be used to purchase new abilities, upgrades, gadgets, and cosmetics.
Originally, they were just a model of a star with different colored materials to show value. As you can see, we've made new meshes for the different value.
Basically, the more the Stardust is worth, the more refined and complex the design is, as if it's being cut like a gem.

Here's a wip image of Rad's current Blend Shapes.
If you're unfamiliar with the term, these are duplicates of Rad's model that are all slightly different that help with animating different facial expressions, as well as other things like eye shapes, chest breathing, and mouth phonemes.
All of these will be controlled and animated through controllers in the same project file.

Here's Rad's new Low-Poly model so far! It was pretty tough, but the topology is MILES better than his old model. That'll make animating so much easier, especially facial animation using blendshapes.

It's been a hot sec, so here's an update on Rad's new model. We've added a bit more detail to his clothing that we think looks pretty cool.
The soles of the shoes now have a puffier/ inflated design to match his puffer vest, and gloves were given better seams and a diagonal band across the palm cuz we thought it felt kinda empty.

Decided to work on a test level today to test Rad's movement and abilities.
After only an hour or so of workin on it, we've decided Rad needs to be nerfed in some places and fixed in broken departments.

Some more progress on Rad's blueprint after a long day of drawing and revisions and critique from people. Going to rest on it for a bit and send it to some more people for more critique, but we're getting there.

Since the character art style has changed over the past couple years, it's safe to say Rad is in need of another model update.
Currently working hard to get the character sheet finished and we'll see where we go from there!

I was told there wasn't enough magical elements in Rad, so I started to concept out some floating platforms and how they would work.
The color of the crystal indicates how it will work. For example: blue will either be stationary or move horizontally, red will fall/ crumble after a short period of time, and green would either just move up or move up and down.
Also made a tall, rock wall for wall jumping.
