Hypnos (earliest sketches)

I hadn't realized I'd started brainstorming the Hypnos idea back in 2015. This was a sort of cringe inducing manifesto for Hypnos and a test of bimbo transformation of Supergirl. Also, Hypnos has a cool design IMO. Kind of Spawn inspired and menacing. 

Video Bimbo (WIP from the Vault)

Here's an old comic that just never got finished. This is also from 2014. It's a boat load of action. I wanted to share this since there were complaints about lack of content recently. I hope 8 pages of hardcore sketches are worth the price of admission. 

If this is something you'd like to see completed let me know. It's pretty close to finished in terms of pages, just needs color.

This piece is from 2014 and I don't believe it's ever been shared publicly. The story is that Ye or Kim (my memory is vague on this detail) got in touch with John Persons requesting artwork from me. This is all second hand BS from John and I have no idea what is true considering John is an enormous POS. Woven Project sketches

I've been holding onto these for months now and it's not doing me any good sitting there. They're mostly just exercises trying to find something that feels right. I think the Mecha idea works well and fits my style pretty well. The rest of it is probably a bit too tame even though I enjoyed working on it.

Anyway, just wanted to share and get feedback. I hope everyone is doing well and staying cool on this melting planet. 

Liberty & Justice

I want to move away from using established characters and worrying about continuity, history, accuracy and possible DMCA issues. 

I really enjoy the over the top scenarios possible in a super hero world/universe so I'm brain storming some possible characters to create my own universe for hero romps.

In real life news I've had an old 1992 454 4x4 Suburban for a few years and I spent a couple weeks working on it, getting it buttoned together. It was good for the soul to get outside and wrench on something. What are some of your hobbies?

Brady Honeymoon

Deville got his name from the place he was conceived, the back of a Cadillac Coupe Deville. He's a tough SOB with a heart of gold.  Kelly didn't hesitate to say YES YES YES when Deville split her in two and popped the question. This page took a while to figure out. I want to get these pairings to the action ASAP and compressing some action into a single page to move things along is tough. I think it came out pretty good. 

Let me know what you think. I'll be doing more sketches while I'm in a groove and then next month I'll start inking and coloring the Hypnos pages I've got ready. This will be the last animation for a little while. This one was a pain to finish and interpolation doesn't seem to work on it. It turned out alright without it but I shouldn't have put my eggs in that basket at all. If I do use it I'll have to use it for the line work since it turns out a lot better. Moving back to Hypnos until I get the current sketched pages finished. 

Revisiting Older Work

Something bugged me about an older piece and I decided to see if I could improve it. This is the result. It's rough in places but this was just an experiment. I feel like I've gotten better since then or maybe it's just the different style that makes it feel that way. 

Anyway, let me know what you think. Lots of stuff going on parallel to things like this.

Woven Project Idea

Since everyone seemed to like my Brady Bunch parody idea and I was hanging on to it for a while before getting around to sharing it I'm going to share another idea and see what you all think. In my excitement I neglected to mark the Easter pinup post as a charged post so this one is for that reason. OOPS!

Easter

Took a while but it's done. Tried some new techniques to set the mood for the forest and I'm really liking these pencil style brushes for the art in general. There are a couple versions of the image, clean, wet, and messy with two bases, one with foliage shadows and one without. I like the mood of the shadows but they can be a little distracting and take away from the figures so I figured I'd just share both versions.

Got lost in Kimberlee's sauce. Here's a few animation previews. Still need some refining but they're looking pretty good. Made some progress on the Easter piece but it's a bigger project than I had anticipated. I had trouble counting the characters. I had to make a layer to write the numbers down to not get confused. There are 19 characters. 

I'm enjoying the animations but I haven't forgotten about the Hypnos comic. Like I said I'll be jumping back and forth just to keep it fresh....

Easter-preview

Had an idea and ran with it. There have been a lot of pinups and previews and not a lot of action lately. I wanted to make up for it. I won't be able to finish it on time for the holiday but I'll get it wrapped up tomorrow. Feeling kind of exhausted today. The second gives you the scope of the image. The clearing is going to be filled with pastel clad bunny girls getting pipe. It's all sketched out, just needs this level of coloring to flesh it out.

Kelly Brady (teaser)

I've reached super nova output levels. I'm really proud of how this one is coming along and it's going to be nuts once it's complete. Just wanted to share the progress for now. It looks rotoscoped even to me and I did it all by hand without reference. I think the use of perspective between poses really sells it and every part of her has something interesting to watch each pass.
