Let me know what you guys think of the lighting by the way. I actually went to watch some tutorials and tried to apply some of what i learned here. 

From what i watched it seems like its just really easy to over complicate the process of doing stuff like lighting and shading so you kind of have to be able to simplify it? its interesting.
