GIF sneak peeks...!

this past week was mostly spent planning on paper, so there isnt too much to show GIF-wise, but thats not to say no progress was made! things should be picking up this week!

~10 second WIP sneak peek of the next animation!!

thats right!! the next animation is of "Soft Fuzzy Man" by Lemon Demon!!

the animation will cover this section of the song up to the very end, so itd be about 1 minute and 15 seconds long!

a thing i wanted to mess around with more was animated backgrounds, so something i wanna do for this animation (which you can see a bit of here) is have it all be in 1 continuous shot using animated backgrounds as transitions!

as for when this animation will be finished, i expect some time...

so whats the holdup?? (a general update + some GIF scraps)

so ive been itching to get back into longer-term animations, problem is that picking the right song has been a bit of a task!

the past 2 weeks ive just been all over the place trying to figure out a good song to animate, which has not been easy.. namely right now i want to avoid doing something "wholesome", as well as do something i find a lot more interesting and impactful on the art + animation side of things, which that in itself took a while to figure out! unfortunately though this ...

THE NEW ANIMATION IS OUT!!!!!

almost there!!!! (only backgrounds left!!) + some rough color scheme previews.....

YAHHOO!!!! if all goes well, backgrounds should only take a day to finish!! which means the animation may be coming tomorrow or the day after!

progress was a bit slow this week, but things are picking back up again, the rough animation should be over 50% complete as of today!

~11 second preview of the NEXT ANIMATION!!

the animation i plan releasing some time between June 15th and June 30th is of "Ladyflash" by The Go! Team! this is a bit more experimental than what i usually do, plus theres a few cuts shown in this clip that go unfinished for now since they need editing in post so it might look a bit strange for now, but i hope you like the end result!!

new stop motion setup + sample gif!

ive always wanted to try out stop motion, and i thought now would be as good a time as any to try it out!

whether or not id actually be using this for a full animation is yet to be determined.... but i might use it for a shot or two in the animation for June!

an experiment in editing from ~2 weeks ago.....

i recently downloaded adobe premiere just to toy around with and see if theres anything interesting i would be able to do that could be handy/interesting to use in an animation, but also to see if i could achieve this effect...

as far as i know, this isnt even the complete amount of what sketches there are for Modify (i have another notebook thats full of random sketches instead of being a dedicated notebook for animation storyboards), theres a whole lot here!

ive been doing these for all of my animations since "Modify" in a single notebook! they are very rough sketches of storyboards i do just to get the idea down.. ive shown some of these before for Modify on twitter, but here's the complete scan for CAKE! i plan on uploading the scans for Haircut and Reaganomics soon today, as well as potentially Modify + some upcoming stuff!!!

the new animation is FINISHED!!!! look forward to it on the 15th!!!!

YAHHHOOO!!!! theres not much to say now, this next week will be spent doing lip sync, clean-up, colors, and the backgrounds!

all of these processes take the least amount of time, so its pretty much guaranteed that the animation will be released on the 15th!

the full animation requires 507 frames to be finished
at the moment, 314 of these 507 frames (62%!) are boarded
and 216 of the total 507 frames (43%!) are finished!

no lip syncing on the cat character (yet!) since this is a shorter animation i just plan on doing it all in one go at some point, there's gonna be an intro to this animation Buuut i just decided to start here since this is where most of my ideas are for at the moment!

i think ultimately what this past month or so has shown me is that at the moment, i'm not ready to dive right back into doing longer 2+ minute ambitious animations, but thats okay!! i know i've been kinda jumping around from project to project lately, but i plan on finishing this one!

i still plan on finishing my animation of "Reaganomics" one day, and doing more ambitious videos, but for now i'm going to focus on shorter bits of audio.. the plus side for you, as the vi...

a little update as to whats been going on!

hey its been a while!! sorry about that!

generally i try to post something every week, though for the past few weeks ive been going through a bit of a rough burnout, so i've been taking a break from art and animation for a while, and have recently been making efforts to break out of it

that being said, i do i have a special little something something i'll be uploading to YouTube tomorrow!! it's a fairly simple little joke animation ive wanted to make for a while, so i hope you loo...

so....... a change of plans!!

a few days ago i decided, screw it!!! i've wanted to animate "Reaganomics" for such a long time and i didnt want to wait any longer, so from now on i'm working on REAGANOMICS by lemon demon!!! (specifically the 2012 version, which can be heard here!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjCyVfBiwpE)

personally i found myself stressing over them more than necessary and would rather avoid that + spend that energy on the animations.. that being said, thank you so much to everyone who's been part of it and i hope you enjoyed your sketches!!

modify is out! but what next?

at the moment, im not really sure!

for a while i've wanted to animate "Party on the Moon" by Lemon Demon, though coming hot off the heels of "Modify" i feel like some other songs by him have caught my attention more that i'd be interested in animating... namely i want to make full animations for both "Knife Fight" and one of the full storylines of "Haircut"!

i still like my idea for Party on the Moon, plus it'd be shorter which would be nice as a cooldown from the goliath that was...
