A peek at each of my steps along the way of creating the art for this short! 

I normally do layouts and inks (with some tones added in at this step because limbo-forbid I have a page that's just black and white), but the colouring and lettering is kinda new! Hopefully it's something I'll be doing more of myself from start to finish in the future ^.^

Short comic commissioned last year by writer Alex Tafur!  

I legit can't remember the last time I took on a lil' comic job like this and, although it took some figuring out to fit it in around my commercial work/ forcing myself to take breaks, Alex was endlessly patient with my delivery and I'm really happy with the final product. 

I did all of the visuals for these pages from start to finish, which was good practice for me as well, as I tend to just do pencil...

I spent wayyy too much time on Blambot the other day trying to find a better dialogue font and while I did end up buying a couple, mostly I left the site with like 20+ free-to-download new fonts and ...

I did this sketch as a warmup the other morning after pulling up an old file from ages ago when I'd tried to help my buddy out with the Dreaded Low-Angle Face Shot(TM), then redrew a couple of years ago to try my hand at this tough shot again (hi Arif) 

I feel like this perspective has lost most of its mystique for me and, while I'm sure if I do this again in a year or two I'll have some new techniques to improve even more, I thought it might be helpful to share how I break down do...

Did this as concept art yesterday and I am honestly SO CONFLICTED :')

I really really like her, but she was my second idea for a Perchta/Frau Weisse character and I think the more fae/ otherwordly design I originally sketched out will work better for a fairytale-esque short.

I did probably more research on peasant attire in 15th-century Germany than was needed and this idea incorporates a lot more of those aesthetics than the other one. I feel like this version could work...
