The initial announcement of Sisi Stringer playing Kitana’s clone Mileena in the new Mortal Kombat movie -- and seeing her in the trailer -- came a new slew of racist trolls challenging casting director Rich Delia’s attempt of casting the roles according to the actor’s proper background. So allow me to give a brief history of Mileena (and Mortal Kombat lore) in my attempt to answer a simple question: Why is Mileena black?

Yes, Readers. I know I said that I wasn’t going to make another WandaVision video until the series was finished.
And honestly, I would’ve gotten away with it, too. If it weren’t for the second to last episode dropping a huge-ass bombshell regarding how Marvel Studios can explain the existence of mutants in the MCU
But, in my defense, the fact that I’ve gone a whole month without any new videos specifically about WandaVision is an accomplishment, and I should be proud of my...

Thanks to episode 8 of Marvel Studios’ first Disney+ series, this WandaVision theory might have solved the debate regarding when we’ll see the X-Men and the rest of the mutants in the MCU! And it’s all thanks to the trip down memory lane Agatha Harkness forced the Scarlet Witch herself Wanda Maximoff to go on involving a very important moment in her and Quicksilver’s origin story!

Yes, Readers. You saw that intro correctly. It’s been out for over a year by now, but I finally got around to watching Rian Johnson’s mystery film, Knives Out for the first time.
And as you probably would’ve guessed if you picked up on my taste in films over the years, I LOVED this movie.

When it comes to the Thrombey Family from Rian Johnson’s hit 2019 murder mystery movie Knives Out starring Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, the late Christopher Plummer, and Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, a lot can be said about how their actions in the movie -- from the investigation to the will reading -- tend to reflect recent real world dangers in certain people.

The first movie is praised for being the movie that both saved Marvel Entertainment from bankruptcy and placed superhero movies back in a positive spotlight in the late 90’s, the second movie is praised for its direction, practical and digital effects, and the third movie...exists.
But whatever your opinions are about where Blade Trinity falls on the trash meter, we have its existence to thank for us being able to qualify the Blade film franchis...

The Blade Trilogy starring Wesley Snipes is one of the most recognizable movie trilogies to come from Marvel Comics, despite the third installment Blade: Trinity lowering it in the ranking. So I decided to rewatch and review the Blade franchise, and find a way to take the elements of Whistler, Abigail Whistler, the Blood god from Blade 1998, the Reapers from Blade 2 and Drake from Blade:Trinity, in order to make it a proper movie trilogy!

Readers, believe me when I say that when it comes to casting announcements -- especially for adaptations of properties rooted in geek and nerd related pop culture with pre-existing fan bases -- things can either go swimmingly, or drowningly.
And yes, I know that “drowningly” isn’t an actual word. But have you ever considered the fact that I don’t care? Because I don’t.

The HBO cast for The Last of Us series now consists of Bella Ramsey as Ellie and Pedro Pascal as Joel. But 5 hours before Joel was cast, a rumor circulated about Mahershala Ali playing Joel that resulted in a display of racism in certain corners of the internet in comparison to the news of Pedro Pascal being officially cast as Joel for the TV show. I examine why that was the case.

I’m just gonna be honest with you, Readers; I...didn’t really care for Disney/Pixar’s Soul
And it's not like I walked into it TRYING to dislike it, either. I was hoping I’d be able to enjoy it despite a lot of the very valid criticisms regarding the use of the main character made by many African Americans.

When the Disney movie from Pixar Animation “Soul” premiered on Disney Plus in 2020, I watched a very beautiful film whose narrative didn’t hit me as hard as it should have. And outside of a criticism made about it that I agree with, part of the reason I feel the Pixar movie starring Jamie Foxx didn’t work was thanks to Tina Fey’s character in Soul, 22.

The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, and The Karate Kid Part III. Not only was this franchise responsible for “kicking off” the Karate craze in America from the mid 80s onward, but its underdog themes and even its male lead helped dub the series -- at least the first installment -- Rocky for kids.

While opinions about the movie are in flux, Wonder Woman 1984 has officially introduced Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah into the DCEU! But because of the decade the DC Comics superhero movie is based in, the Wonder Woman 1984 villain might not be able to face off against Gal Gadot’s Diana or the Justice League in DCEU movies taking place in the modern day. Thankfully, I figured out a way to bring her to the present day!
