ML Office AU • Part 8 - Familial Relations

Heheheh, I like the idea of this kind of father and son relationship for these two - where both are incredibly suspicious of each other 24/7. I like to think that Felix is smart enough to suspect his own father is Hawk Moth, but he can't accept it without absolute proof since Gabriel is his father after all (it's not like he WANTS it to be true).

Felinette Yule Ball

I was looking through my files and found this, so I colored and finalized it. Part 6 - WIP / Update

With everything that's been going on for the past week, it's been difficult to focus and create, so I'm only getting to part 6 today (I usually like to start on Tuesdays). So just a heads up it may be delayed a couple of days, but I'm going to shoot for a Saturday release if possible! I don't really have a set schedule, I just like the idea of trying to get one part out each week.

ML Office AU • Intro Arc Part 5 - Career Thief

I'm still on the fence over whether I should find a different VA for Allegra or if I should just stick with it - but I do like how the acting in this one came out.

I recently got the entire storyboard book for Howl's Moving Castle, which I flipped through before starting this piece. I feel like the art influenced me and I was able to draw real well for about 5 minutes lmao.

ML Office AU • Intro Arc Part 4 - Adult Babysitting

Here's part 4! I feel so much better about the lip syncing in this one, the other ones felt so messy and the movement was too fast. This took a lot longer to put together since I had to break it down by sentence and create more specific mouth shapes, but I think it was worth it.

Part 4 Background

Finished another background this morning. Part 4 focuses on Claude and Marinette so I needed another desk angle for their back and forth dialogue.

I like throwing purple accents into the office to tie it to Gabriel/Hawk Moth since he owns the building. But I also wanted to keep it more like a regular office instead of something super fancy since this is the marketing department so it doesn't get as much love.

I didn't expect to finish this part today but here we are!

I think my favorite part of this project is getting to draw all of the deadpan Felix faces, they bring me joy xD

Part 3 WIP Frames

Here are all the frames (aside from the blinks) for part 3! A total of 28 images, but 10 unique poses.

I work in Clip Studio EX and sketch out each pose as keyframes on the animation timeline. Then, I go in and line everything, leaving out the mouth and chin areas. Once all of the poses have been lined, I'll make the mouth animations, typically 3 for each pose (open, half open, closed). Next, I'll color each main pose and then copy those frames for the mouth animations and adjust the co...

UPDATE: Good News & Bad News

Hey all, thank you so much for the support! I have an update to give regarding the ML Office AU.

I'll start with the bad news...I had been planning on releasing one part each week, but it looks like the next part will be delayed a bit (probably until next week).

Introducing Claude and Allegra, originally part of the Quantic Kids concept that was scrapped (if you weren't aware, the concept art for ML's original story is awesome, check it out if you haven't!).

Camera Test

Playing around in After Effects to try and get that handheld, shaky camera feel. I think it's working pretty well! I just used a null with a slider effect attached to it and connected it to the video's position with an added wiggle expression. I'm wondering if the really subtle shakes will be more noticeable once it's colored and finished? 🤔

Here are some initial sketches I did of Marinette and Felix. Once Felix begins visiting Marinette’s desk, they’re kind of cold to each other - not to mention distracted since they’re both trying to survey the area.
