Hi everyone.

Here's this week's artwork:

2. Jessica: For this artwork, I went with a more stylized look but kept my usual lighting and texturing methods. I also tried to keep most of the shapes round and curvy. I tired out some different post processing for this image. Some chromatic abrasion in the background, a little noise grain, and some compositing gives the artwork an almost vintage look that I think fits the character well. Hi Deluxe Tier,

Here's updated WIPs.

1. Camilla: I added color and started the lighting. It will needs clean up and texturing. I want to add a loose bikini alt and some water droplets.

2. Jessica: I added the base colors. Even before the render, I think this looks great with just the flat base colors. I still need to add the lighting and texturing from here.

Art Tip: White Object Shadows

Hi everyone. Happy Art Tip Tuesday.

Someone on the discord asked an art question about whether you can use gray to shade white objects. I turned this into an art tip with some examples.

A white object will still have color on it from the color of the lights reflecting off of it. Here's some more WIPs for today.

1. Del and Poste. I added color and some of the shadows. The background for this is a little too simple in my opinion, but I'll work on it.

Art Tip: Color Zones of the Face

Hi everyone. Happy Art Tip Tuesday.

Here's a big tip for this week. People often tell me the skin I paint looks really good and they ask why. I think that adding hue variation is what makes skin (or anything) look more colorful and feel more real.

People will often think of coloring anything with a single color, but in my opinion varying the colors on something makes it feel more artistic and slightly more real depending on the colors you choose. The middle of the face for example...

Here's some updates for today.

Here's some more WIPs:

1. XXX-mas Ivy: I did a little rendering and added a few OC ornaments to the tree. I want to give the ornaments a render that makes them look like shiny plastic. The key to that will be to reflect the lights and background on to them with hard edges. I'll also need to texture Ivy's sweater a bit more.

Art Tip: Choosing Light and Shadow Colors

Happy Art Tip Tuesday!

Here's a guide for choosing light and shadow colors. If you want more colorful artwork, you need to change the hue of your colors with the lighting. It is as simple as nudging the hue on the color picker toward yellow for colors in the light, and nudging toward blue for colors in the shadows. I included examples of colors on both halves of the color wheel and a ball with two colors on the surface.

1. Ivy Walk WIP: Another animated warmup I did. I started this as practice for drawing legs, then I wanted to see if I could get a nice bounce going as she walks.
