oh my god I tried to post this last night but Patreon never uploaded the video lol
Hi guys, I have been in the depths of despair lately and decided to film a little portrait speedpaint to show you guys a little glimpse of how I work!
I don't usually like to record myself painting, it's stressful and also taxes my PC as I usually paint on pretty giant canvases. However, I've been kind of weaving in and out of despair/burnout lately and thought a lower stress portrait might be fun and I figured I could record it.
I've kind of felt like my work has been stagnating a bit- I think I've got about 6 pieces that I've worked on since last month that I haven't been happy with, so I've decided to try and shift my technique a little.
I've been doing a hodgepodge of 3D under my paintings for years now, but the technique I use to paint the final pieces changes all the time. I haven't been happy with my hair painting technique for a while now, so my main focus with this was to try something a little different. I really like the more silky/chunky hair that some artists achieve, so I wanted to try my hand at it.
The whole 3D thing is not really a process I am skilled enough to "teach" as I usually glob together things and sculpt over in a horror show. Essentially I try to get it to "serviceable" enough to paint over.
I've been hard at work concepting the Vhaeraun piece for this month's print club- I am not sure yet if I will ultimately use the idea I'm working on currently but I have been documenting the process a bit more than usual as well. We shall see.
I hope you all are doing well, I'll have this month's portrait giveaway form up in the next few days. Thank you as always for your support. ♥

Hi everyone!!! This is the final piece for this month's mini print for the print club.
I painted this piece using almost entirely Rebelle 7 which what an interesting change of pace. I keep going back and forth on whether I like it or not, there are some features that I don't love about it. One thing it does do is simulate real world color mixing, which is very interesting. Overall I still find the program unwieldy somehow, though it allows me to do some more experimental stuff. I find that using a completely new software is akin to switching mediums entirely. That Minthara piece I did a little bit back was also with the program, which was interesting.
I've been going through artblock lately and really had to spend more time than usual working this piece out. The Iron Bull piece was a piece of cake compared to this, somehow! I started this piece here below, but it turned into a bit more of an unfinished character study in the end. Something about it just didn't seem cool or interesting enough on its own. But Dorian's abs are of course a sight to behold so I thought I'd share for you all here on Patreon only, lol. I was calling it "Poise."
I think I started to lose steam on this piece after I mostly finished up his hand and face, overall I felt the lighting was a little uninteresting though I do love the warm tones. I tend to prefer to have some kind of stark lighting/opposing color going on, or I tend to get a little bored. I really love that shadow on his left shoulder and I wish I'd gone more that direction with the lighting overall, but this piece was at a point where I would essentially have to redo the entire thing to do such a drastic lighting change. (I really try to avoid using multiply layers to add shadow, I don't like how they either oversaturate or muddy the layers beneath)
Lots of rambling from me, sorry! I tend to really go into analysis mode when I find myself lacking motivation. Overall I'm really happy with the direction I took the new piece- more drama and a little inspired by my Astarion piece, "Rogue" for more of a stylized look.
I hope you all are doing well!! Remember, next month's print club theme are the D&D Drow gods, Vhaeraun and Eilistraee!

Doing more of these doodly pieces to try and wrench myself out of my artblock. I LOVE Kerry, he is one of my favorite characters in 2077. Excellent character arc- I wish we'd gotten more of him in-game. His voice actor did just such an impeccable job.
Hope you all are well!!! I've put the Dorian piece on pause for this month's print club as I just don't think I've managed to capture him yet. We shall see where a little experimenting takes me.
Thank you as always!!!

Been artblocking like a mofo this past week, truly a struggle lol. :')
I enjoy these looser pieces from time to time, and Johnny's become a bit of a comfortable character to paint these days. I feel like I can inject a little more stylization/expression with these partially inked pieces. Plus I love deep frying my own artwork with a ton of filters (Posterize I ♥ U) and textures and it's a lot more fun when I have some lineart to stabilize everything.
I've been watching the show Daisy and the Six (highly recommend) and wanted to do another stage/singing piece. I might do some more of these- concert photos were always something I'd just flip through for ages. I used to collect Japanese Visual Kei magazines (Shoxx mostly) and I really regret having to get rid of my collection when I moved suddenly a few years back. The stage design/lighting/costumes of those bands are on the next level if you aren't familiar.
Hope you all are doing well!

I realized I haven't painted Karlach in ages, and she snuck into my brain all tadpole-like yesterday. :P I probably haven't painted her as often as I should have, but I find her scars and tattoos a little intimidating. (Same situation with Lae'zel, who I ironically think is perhaps my favorite character design in the game, despite failing to paint her much at all)
I uh, seriously have painted quite a few BG3 character's backs. I think the slightly turned away from the viewer angle is one of my favorites, something a bit more interesting to me, maybe. Like an invitation by the character, or perhaps you caught them in a moment. Also, you know, I do like back muscles. Maybe it's that simple. ._.
Hope you are having a lovely week so far!!

Helloooo everyone! For some reason, Iron Bull in a loincloth appeared in my head and then that's what happened. I tried some different things out, but I remember one of my favorite bits in the game was when Iron Bull sees the dragon in the Western Approach for the first time either in the distance or swoping overhead... it's been a bit since I last played!!!
Who was your Inquisition squad? My eternal party in game was Iron Bull, Sera, and Dorian. Best party banter. I loved Solas too, but those three were just so excellent together. I'm looking forward to painting Dorian for the mini print, I'm thinking a nice portrait of him as I love his facial structure.
This is the exclusive 8"x10" for the print club this month, you're welcome to join until the 28th! :3
I hope you all are doing well, thank you as always. ♥

What is your favorite Elder Scrolls game?
I've been replaying Skyrim with the excellent Gate to Sovngarde mod pack, and wanted to commemorate my player character, Ravenna, with a portrait. Been a little artblocky lately with a lot of started-and-not-finished projects lately so it was nice to do something low pressure.
I created this character back when I was a kid, a Breton conjuration mage, and recreated her for my latest playthrough. Last time I played her like 13 years ago, she ended up a vampire. We'll see about this time!!
Apologies for being late on the portrait giveaway form, I totally forgot about it!!
It will be up some time tomorrow for submissions. ♥
Hope you all are well, thank you as always from the bottom of my heart for your support.

Hello everyone!! As I've announce previously the vote decided that February's prints will be Dragon Age Inquisition themed; Iron Bull for the exclusive and Dorian for the mini.
Now let's vote to decide for March!
I've decided to go with some of my favorite RPG deities and narrowed it down to 2 options!
1. Elder Scrolls Daedric princes;
Sanguine the patron of sinners and overall horny horned party menace, and Azura the Queen of the Night Sky
2. Dungeons & Dragons/Forgotten Realms gods;
Vhaeraun The Masked God of Night and patron to Drow who lurk in the shadows, and his sister Eilistraee the Lady of the Dance and patron to Drow who walk a lighter path.

Finally I've painted all companions in BG3! This piece was a fanart commission that I'd promised I'd take ages ago and finally had the opportunity to this month. Also available as a print to anyone interested- I know I've had several people ask me to paint this duo haha!
I hope you all are doing well!!
The print club theme for February has been decided as Iron Bull for the exclusive and Dorian Pavus as the mini. :3 I'll have a poll up next week for the theme of March, I'm very excited about this one!

I watched Nosferatu, finally, for the first time last night and loved it! The color palette when Count Orlok is around, specifically in his castle, was really appealing to me so I wanted to try my hand at it. The snow with the black and grays was really visually appealing.
I had to doodle my guy Maksim in this atmosphere. He's my Victorian era doctor vamp who is a bit complicated. Incredibly lonely and sickly vampire in the modern era, who has lost much of his hope for humanity over the centuries.
My OCs haven't gotten any love in quite some time so it was nice to paint one of them. ♥

Hi there guys!! Here are the prints for this month's print club! You have until the 31st of this month to join and get these BG3 prints! :D
I'm so glad I switched to printing my own minis instead of the postcards- the print quality is OODLES better than previous, though as a reminder they are now on premium luster paper, which is now art print paper and not cardstock. I'm SO impressed with my new printer- the color depth and crispness is just awesome. :D
It's difficult to photograph, but the Astarion print features the most luscious blue. My old printer struggled a bit with blue and purple (as most printers do) but the new one prints cooler tones SO much more velvety and richly...
These will ship out on the first of February, and please contact me if you don't get a tracking email by the 2nd!

Hi guys, this is the portrait I did for the lovely Aschentanz, winner of January's portrait giveaway. ♥♥
I've kind of been unsure of what format to use moving forward for these, as you guys know I did a print giveaway last month instead of portrait. I think this kind of dreamy bookcovery style will be the standard moving forward for the giveaways in the future this year!

Hellooooo lovelies, I hope you are doing well and staying warm!!! I've spent a ridiculous amount of time this past week tromping around in the snow. It's been magnificent. So I thought a cozy Gale inspired by some of your suggestions last week would be a great idea... Full frontal nude version is below. I figure I'd give a little more warning for these so no one gets penis jumpscared lmao.
These figure study paintings have been a lot of fun- I hope to do more in the near future. :D

Fenris was a highly requested character right off the bat from my post yesterday, so here he is! I've attached both this version and the modesty version for download. ♥

Been really wanting to do some figure paintings lately, and hope to do some more in the future!!

I thought this would be fun, you know I love painting characters but don't love painting clothes so let's paint someone tastefully naked. Comment a character (just one character, no couples please) and a prompt/concept/vibe and I'll pick one I like! (Nothing too raunchy, guys, lol. Think last year's Raphael with his dingdong out)
This will be a Patreon exclusive I think, because I don't like posting full frontal nudity on socials. Feel free to like others' comments as well if there are ideas you really like from other folks!
**No direct depictions of sexual acts, please! Thank you! <3

A looser piece in which I tried out Rebelle 7's oil painting tools for the first time! A bit awkward to try a new program (I used to use Rebelle 5 and it's watercolor function a lot, but the oil paint is an entirely different beast)

I love painting winter scenes so so much.
For our 4"x6" mini print of the month for the Print Club, I present Gale going on a brisk wintery walk in some finery. I think it pairs nicely with the Astarion piece!! :3
This piece will also be available in my shop in larger sizes.
I hope you all are doing well and staying warm! It's been super, super cold here the past few days. I've been really enjoying it- the frost everywhere, kicking through snow, cloudy days...
Thank you as always for your support! I think I'll do a few more wintery portraits before the season is over. Any other characters you'd like to see?

Hello everyone!! So seasonally appropriate over here at the moment- finally getting some nice chilly weather. I present to you the January exclusive print for print club members: Snow Prince Astarion!!
This month's print club will be printing on new satin slightly metallic luster paper with my brand new upgraded printer! We've got BLUE INK, guys. BLUE! So I had to do something blue to celebrate. The luster paper prints so much higher depth of color, and the slight sheen is perfect for the frosty vibes.
I can't wait to paint Gale for the mini print- rosy cheeks and charm, and a velvety cloak for sure. Oh I just love winter motifs, by absolute favorite. ;A;
Print Club Members, please read the below info!
For the Print Club moving forward, I will be switching to higher quality mini prints instead of the postcards. These will be 4"x6" as usual, but done on luster paper instead of the matte cardstock from previous months.
I've had a lot of back-and-forths with the printer who does my postcards for me each month, and I just feel like I'd rather do them myself than have to deal with color grading issues, which happened frequently. This way you guys get a better product, too, since they will be archival grade with richer color.
I will be discontinuing the wax seal decorations from here on forward, so I am hoping the upgrading print quality for the minis will be a sufficient replacement. The smoke/fumes from doing the wax seals has really started to bother both me and, more importantly, my asthmatic cats. I'll be switching to bio-degradeable clear sleeves for the mini prints like I use for the larger prints.
I hope you all are having a lovely start to the new year. Much love to every one of you.

♥ January Print Club characters have been decided via poll! Astarion will feature in the 8"x10" exclusive, and Gale will feature in the postcard. Snowflakes and fluffy coats incoming...
♥ February's theme will be either Mass Effect or Dragon Age decided via poll in the next week or so!
♥ I will be disabling the chatroom function on the Discord server. I will use it for monthly updates (1-2 @everyone tags each month) going forward.***
***This isn't due to any drama or anything at all, and absolute love to everyone who has been so friendly! I've received several (very kindly worded, everyone here is so sweet) messages from people who are not fans of the setup currently, so I will just use it as an alternate update corner and gallery of my works moving forward. We will see how that goes! I hope it's less irritating to folks who didn't love the original setup.

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a decent holiday time. ♥
The Cyberpunk print club is in production (printing as I type this) with my new and amazing fancier printer!! The print quality has gone up significantly, and we now have the ability to print in RGB! The colors are much richer, and tones with red, purple, and blue are WAY more accurate to the original digital paintings. All prints in my shop as also getting a major upgrade.
I've been a little behind my printing schedule since my last printer broke and set me back a bit, but I'll be shipping out giveaway prints and pending orders ASAP, along with the print club!
If you don't receive a tracking email for your print club pack by the end of this week, let me know and I will get it to you manually!
Thank you so so much everyone, I can't believe it's been a whole YEAR of the print club!! I couldn't do it without you guys, thank you for all of your love and patience.
ALSO! GALE FANS: We will be having a preorder in January for Gale blankets due to popular request. There will be 3 options, Gale & Tara, Ambition (God Gale), and I'm not quite decided on the last.
We'll be ringing in the new year with a Baldur's Gate themed print pack next month for January, and I'm planning to have a vote between Mass Effect and Dragon Age for February.

I couldn't decide who to paint for the main print for this month's print club, so I painted as many as I could. As many chooms as I could fit. B-)
I cannot express properly how touching and incredibly well made Cyberpunk 2077 is. It's a masterpiece- every bit feels like it was so lovingly made by every single person who worked on it. I'm still not finished, but I really wanted to pay tribute to many of the incredible characters I've met along the way so far.
I'm waiting on a new printer which should have a bit of a color boost/upgrade from before so that is exciting! This month's 8"x10"s will all be printed with the new printer.
I hope you all are doing well, and I hope the holiday season is treating you alright.♥

With these last 4 portraits, I've finished my BG2 style portraits of our beloved BG3 companions. I love them all, but I think that Gale, Wyll, Karlach,+Halsin ended up my favorites haha. For Karlach and Wyll I especially enjoyed adding in a little late 80's/90's flair. Karlach's Lost Boys mullet had me cackling nonstop.
I hope you all are having a good week, I am very thankful for all of you.
