Snares was a tubby little kid spotting an 80s mullet. He's still tubby in a powerlifter way, with the added boon of a rocker's mohawk. Some of you may find these angles familiar, and they're largely a tribute to scenes from Attack on Titan, more specifically Eren's first combat engagement with the Colossal Titan. Originally I had wanted to have Snares run along the kaiju's arm, although apart from extending the action sequence, the dramatics did little in terms of story progression. In the end I trimmed the scene down to what you see now for something more economic and snappy.

With the arrival of July, my one-year studio lease comes to an end. Despite earlier indications among my studio mates of wanting to extend our lease for another 6 months, enthusiasm had substantially withered down. I've worked out the page rhythms from multiples of 3 to something with an opening of a faster pace with a slow, concentrated finish to the likes of 2-2-2-3-4-3. So instead of the 18 pages above, we're looking at another 16 page comic. I haven't exactly started on the page art yet, but I've more time now to focus on my Kaiju project which I'm very excited about.
