v.0.10A is here! As I said, it's a shorter update than usual dialogue wise with:

English words: 10,047 (Total: 226,734)

Spanish words: 9,414 (Total: 213,047)

Dialogue lines: 700 (Total: 16.137)

But it's big in everything else:

Animations: 12 (Total: 156)

v.0.10A Release Schedule

Hello again,

I made a difficult decision today. I wanted v.0.10 to be a complete update, but what I said two days ago in the Progress Report about redoing Simone's scene made me rethink it.

The definitive Simone scene came out huge, with 874 renders (609 animated in 12 animations). The complete v.0.1 had 830 renders. The biggest scene so far, Erika's scene from v.0.9B, had 841.

What does that mean? That v.0.10A overall has 1,251 renders (second largest update) and that final...

v.0.10 Progress report

Here I am once again with my boring progress reports.

The next version is out of schedule (as always lately) because Simone's scene didn't result as I was expecting. The text looked right and the images looked right, but when I tested it, it was a bland scene. I've rewritten the whole scene, returned to the original scenario that was on my mind and I'm rendering it and testing it as I do. Now it's what I had in mind.

After discarding Simone's scene, it was bland, I'm back on track with the redo of her new scene. Posing and rendering, writing and rendering, heigh-ho the renders here they go... (I know, I know, you can cancel your pledge if you feel offended by my Snow White cover, but that nipple looked hard as a diamond.)

Back in the day (VIII and last) - The final nightmare

I have been preparing you for the real nightmare for the past few days. A blonde Daphne (guess who the Pink Princess was in the first drafts?), a non-gothic Erika, Emma with an undefined style (and a horrible hairstyle), the original Martha...

There's nothing in that image that improves the current state of the girls. More than a year later, I think the only acceptable one was Erika... if we hadn't met her gothic version.

And I don't even want to talk about the phone embedded in E...

v.0.10 Preview (III) - Please, arrest me

An airport cafeteria while the MC waits for Meemaw. A beauty appears. It looks like a chance encounter. She recognizes the MC; he has trouble recognizing her (the QC MC had a hard time). She might ask when they go back to training, the MC would be thinking about the promised handcuffs.

There's nothing like seeing a woman you have always known without makeup dolled up for the first time. And out of her police uniform.

Back in the Day (VI) - Nightmare Edition (II)

You remember that Erika is in a post-gothic phase, right? In the original story that phase was more advanced and she no longer dressed and made up like a goth; she had left the gothic behind to go pseudo-hippie. The sweetness was still there, but I think returning her to her post-gothic look suited her better.

By the way, the one who was still goth in the original story was another girl. More on that in the next issue of Nightmare Edition.

Back In the Day (V) - Nightmare Edition

Back in January last year I still was designing the characters and learning how to render properly (I'm on it still).

Hi, I have seen that there are some Patrons who, when they cancel their subscription, indicate as a reason to cancel that "Tropecita Games wasn't as active as I expected".

I don't know if this is a general perception, if you would like me to post more things, or if I bother you enough.

Do you think I should post more? What do other developers you support do?

I've added new links to the v.0.9B release post. 

This includes:

* Fixed a bug in the Spanish version that prevented 1 image on Erika's scene to show.

* Proofreading of the English version of Erika's scene and a complete overhaul of Chapter 4

New goth on the block

You know I like the gothic look.

You know I like redheads.

Erika is a redhead who dyed her hair black when she went goth. She kept the black when she stopped being goth, it's already part of her identity.

Zoe never went through the phase of dyeing her hair black. A proud redhead, an even prouder goth.

She will arrive in the third act, in the last student group.

v.0.10 Preview (II) - An athlete at home

Martha's house has a nice gym on the fourth floor, right next to the MC's room. Since Episode 1 with Emma doing yoga, it hadn't appeared again.

We have a swimmer at home, and finally someone is going to put it to use. 

Maybe having someone visiting the top floor often can make for awkward situations.

v.0.10 First Preview (I)

This doesn't stop! Friday I published v.0.9B and today I bring you one image from the first scene of v.0.10!

Finally, it's here. Some typos from previous updates have been corrected, some images re-rendered, and a lot of new content has been added.

Finally v.0.9B is almost finished; right now I'm configuring the music/SFX. Well, no, I'm writing this post right now, but you know what I mean.

1,663 renders (the biggest update so far had 1,199) divided into 589 stills and 1,074 animated frames (20 animations).

22,848 words in English, 21,240 in Spanish.

1,691 lines of dialog and about 3,600 lines of code (until I finish configuring the sounds I don't know the exact number...

v.0.9 preview of a discarded animation

You know I've been working on improving my animations, and this is one of the ones I made for v.0.9B (yes, the last scene, the one I was keeping secret, is with Erika).

v.0.9B Progress report - Content and Tentative Schedule

The v.0.9B is just finishing baking. I'm finishing the last two scenes and will be able to publish it. I've set Maddie as my wallpaper looking at me like this to remind me that I'm late. It doesn't do much good, I just stare at her cleavage.

Amanda is a little sleepy. It's been days since I rendered her and she's looking forward to appearing in the next update. The (triple) scene with Maddie is dragging a bit and the update will take a few days yet to arrive.

What happened here? The MC spying on a girl in the shower? That's a new one! Did he get help? Or does that image belong to a non-romance route? At least we know the scene is going to be steamy.

Animations - What to do?

Lately I have received some complaints about the quality of the animations, especially in the last update. I know they are not the best and I have to learn how to improve them, but I want to know your opinion about the issue.

The result of this poll will not affect the next update, as it is in progress.

v.0.9B Progress report - A forgetful dev at work

Do you remember when Debbie changed her t-shirt for a top at Maddie's store?

Well, I didn't. I just discovered while rendering the third scene that I had Deb with the t-shirt instead of the top. Not much of a problem with it, I'll reload every one of the afected renders (around 16-18), change the clothing and re-render it.

Other than that, I have the first three subscenes written, two of them totally rendered (except for the re-renders mentioned above), and part of the 3rd. Around...

Do you remember that after the date with Martha at the Jazz Club you said you would go out once a week? The week is coming to an end and you still haven't had your second date.
