Here is the latest on the Rent comic.
Got the majority of the shapes in place. And have the pacing down that the commissioner wanted.
Now its just a matter of cleaning it up and making it look pretty. :)
The next page of Initiation is also coming along.
Should have something soon to post on that.

Now, keep in mind, this comic won't end like normal CV stories I've done in the past.

This has been one of the more interesting pages I've done.
Never attempted a cut away shot, but fun to see if I could pull it off.
Staging a comic like this can be difficult, especially when some stuff is so large, but wanting to capture the more intimate moments that require close ups.
Delicate balance without making it too jarring.
Anyway, on to the next page.

Tried a different approach to the tones in the second panel, hopefully it makes it feel more goopy.

Just giving a quick update on The Initiation.
The color for the top panel is pretty much there.
Just need to ad the dialogue, sound effects, and it should be good.
The second panel is still being worked out, which deals with the interior of the balls. Sort of like a similar shot I did in The Bus comic.
Lots of bodies crammed together surround by the "special fluids" LOL

This has been a wild month for me. Celebrated my birthday, and took a much needed few days away from the drawing tablet.
But, I was able to finish page 13.
Getting close to the end with this one. Already have the last few pages sketched out.
Now, The Initiation comic will go a bit longer than this one, and has a different ending. But that's all I'll say...

First up on the left is the rough for page 13 of Rent where we see the last of the party goers going in.
I now have a good idea of what the ending pages should be for Rent, and looks like it will wrap up with about 17 or 18 pages.

I apologize for slow postings on this, but the page was definitely a challenge, especially panel four. So I had to completely focus on it.
I don't think I've done anything like this before.
But! It's finally finished!
The color for the next page of Initiation is already in progress, I'll give an update on it tomorrow.

Above are the current progress on the two coming up pages for Rent and Initiation.
Finally got to a point where I like where each page is going, lots of moving panels around to find the right order.
But just making sure the pages hit the story beats I want.
That's it for now, but will post a color update once I get to that stage.

Got a bit burned out with the big two page spread for Rent.
My energy level is low, but things are progressing nicely on page 14.
So yeah, there it is.

Had to deal with getting my vaccination shots, as well as a mechanical malfunction with my drawing tablet. So feeling like crap and being a trouble shooter. LOL

I'm hammering out the color while doing the line work. Its a bit unusual to do it this way, but I need the color to see how the shapes are separating.
Still has a long ways to go with certain parts of the page, and adjusting the lighting, but its getting there!

Here is the rough for page 10-11, which is a two page spread.
This one was tough, trying to stage everything that needed to be seen, but also giving the page a feeling of claustrophobia as the balls grow larger.
Its a delicate balance of where everything should go.
Also working on the next page for The Initiation, will have more to show of that soon.
All moving towards their big climaxes. LOL

The line clean up and color is moving along.
The two top rows are cleaned up and the major color layers are in place.
Currently working on the bottom row.
Once all the color and line work is finished, then the shadows and lighting will start.

We are now getting into the land of coloring and shading.
Sometimes this part can be fun, other times a huge pain in the ass.
Comparing the two images above, you can see the progress of applying shades and highlights. For stuff like this it sometimes comes down to experimenting. How do the colors interact? Is the color helping or hindering the staging. Because of the darkness of the scene, this becomes very important. Making sur...

Spent most of the time cleaning up the group in panel 2. Separating them, and getting each figure to scale correctly. Sometimes I'll draw a part of the body, then realize the head is too big for the body, and I'd adjust it with the scale tool. Its usually a lot of pushing and pulling to make the characters fit and work well together.
Especially when they are in weird positions.

Been slowly figuring out the figures in the top panel. Sometimes it feels like trying to separate wet spaghetti. LOL
I finally got the group the way I wanted, making sure the figures read clearly going into the cock. Not that most of them will be covered in goo. But it helps when doing the shadows and tones later on.

So this is where the page is as of today, Friday the 12th.
I've spent time cleaning up the line work on the bottom panels, and filled in the shapes with grey tones. Each shape has its own layer in Photoshop, so when color is applied its just a simple swipe with the paint brush tool when the individual layers are locked off.
